John Goodman Lined Up to Have Some 'Trouble with the Curve' Too
Right now Joel and Ethan Coen have Justin Timberlake and John Goodman lined up for the 60's folk music centric film Inside Llewyn Davis, but the actors from two different generations will be together on another film as well. Variety has word that Goodman has just joined the cast of Trouble with the Curve, the baseball drama starring Clint Eastwood as a baseball scout with vision problems who takes a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to take a look at a hot prospect. Amy Adams has already signed to play Eastwood's daughter and Timberlake is playing a former pitcher who now works as a scout for the New York Yankees.
Meanwhile, Goodman is playing Pete Klein, an old-school scout and longtime friend of Eastwood's character who still believes in the man's ability to spot talent. This won't be Goodman's first brush with baseball on the big screen as the actor previous portrayed the larger than life legendary baseball player Babe Ruth in the aptly titled film Babe. The film features a rare turn for Eastwood who is staying out of the director's chair this time to allow his longtime business partner Robert Lorenz to helm the film. It's quite a stellar cast, but then again, who isn't dying to work with Clint Eastwood?

As excited as I am about Eastwood again, what is with this John Goodman come back? He was in some great movies last year (Incredibly Close/The Artist). Maybe I just haven't noticed him for a while, but I'm starting to remember what he's capable of.
