How's this for a team-up you couldn't have ever imagined - Justin Timberlake and Clint Eastwood, in a baseball flick. Variety is reporting that Timberlake, who is continuing his strong career in acting, has landed the role of a former pitcher and friend of an aging baseball scout, being played by Eastwood, in the baseball drama Trouble With the Curve. Amy Adams and Matthew Lillard are also already cast in the film, being developed by Eastwood at Malpaso Productions through Warner Bros, and will mark the directorial debut of Eastwood's longtime producing partner Robert Lorenz. This is really starting to sound like a great project.
Trouble With the Curve, from a screenplay by Randy Brown, is about an ailing baseball scout in his twilight years who takes his daughter (Adams) along for one last recruiting trip. Justin Timberlake will play Johnny Flanagan, a former pitcher who now works as a baseball scout for the New York Yankees, who falls for his daughter. Timberlake is already lined up to star in the Coen Brothers' new film Inside Llewyn Davis, and will then move on to shoot this. I'm glad to see him taking on roles like these two films, rather than some of the crap he's been in recently (Bad Teacher, Friends with Benefits, In Time) and I'm intrigued to see how it turns out. I love a good baseball flick, and with an impressive cast and good story, Curve definitely sounds like one to keep an eye on.

Although I am happy to see Justin Timberlake cast in these promising movies as I believe he has the talent and charisma and work ethic to be a great actor, I disagree that Friends with Benefits was crap. It was a romantic comedy that showed off his comedic skills and was a fun movie to watch. As a long time fan, I have 100 percent faith that he will do well.

Really? Come on Hollywood, this guy needs to stay out of acting, he's horrible. He's really taking roles from good actors who are busting there behinds out in LA and NY. What's the problem with casting a hardworking no name who has studied acting and knows acting... Come on Mr. Eastwood...first Beyonce now Timberlake.
