Kat Dennings Returning for Expanded Role in 'Thor: The Dark World'
by Ethan Anderton
August 22, 2012
Since her turn in the Marvel blockbuster Thor, the lovely Kat Dennings has been busy with her CBS comedy series "2 Broke Girls." However, it sounds like the actress will make some time for more comic book action as Deadline reports Dennings is set to reprise her role as Darcy Lewis in Thor: The Dark World. In the first film, Dennings played a desperate intern, not exactly thrilled with being caught up in the cosmic action and mythical science and providing much comic relief. However, it sounds like she's sticking with Natalie Portman's scientist character for the sequel, and she'll even have an expanded role this time around.
It's not clear just how involved with the action Dennings will be this time, but I'm hoping it's a but more beyond the one-liners and jokes she delivered in the first film. While she certainly helped give the out of this world film some humanity, it would be nice to see her character have some substance this time around. She's quite the talented actress, so to make her more of an integral part to the franchise would be a welcome inclusion. Dennings joins Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Stellan Skarsgaard in reprising their roles for Thor: The Dark World which hits theaters on November 8th, 2013.

she was better as a one time movie actor. she really doesn't have a necessary status in the plot like everyone else did in the first thor.
