Katee Sackhoff Joins Gina Carano in All-Female 'Expendables' Flick

Katee Sackhoff

Following her work on "Battlestar Galactica," actress Katee Sackhoff has been a part of some film projects like Sexy Evil Genius and Riddick, but those films aren't hitting the big screen very soon. However, we might see her in action sometime soon as Variety reports Sackhoff has been lined up to join Gina Carano in the all-female take on The Expendables from The Grey and Dredd 3D producer Adi Shankar. The producer commented, "If you spend five minutes with Katee it becomes blatantly obvious that she would pwn most male action stars." That's all well and good, but when are we going to get big names on this film?

Variety says several prominent female action stars are still circling the project, but no names are mentioned this time either. Carano and Sackhoff are certainly tough women, but this film is going to need some big names to be a worthy riff on The Expendables. Obviously, the testosterone fueled action bonanza doesn't have only all-star action stars, but there need to be at least a few. Again, our choices include Sigourney Weaver, Milla Jovovich, Kate Beckinsale, Michelle Rodriguez, Lucy Lawless, Linda Hamilton, Uma Thurman, Zoe Saldana and Michelle Yeoh, so hopefully at least some of them join the flick.

Love Katee. From Bionic Woman to Longmire, the woman is hot.

This movie /needs/ Helen Mirren. RED basically solidified her ability to be proper, beautiful, and badass simultaneously.

I think it's sad you don't consider Sackhoff to be a big name.

Sackhoff..hmm..sounds way too similar to Ja__off ...subliminal messaging?

That's not really up to them. It's not a judge of quality, just public visibility.

I'm not saying she's not talented, but she's not a name that will help draw an audience outside of Battlestar Galactica viewers.

Sh'e also in Longmire , playing a deputy to his Sheriff of a southwestern town . 2nd billing , in a good amount of scenes . So some A&E fans will know her . As I recall tho her casting as Starbuck was somewhat controversial , until everyone saw a few episodes and promptly shut the hell up . She'll be fine in whatever role . I would say No to Siggy and Linda too old unless they're the handlers of the agents or bad women they're banding against

Like the 2 choices so far. Maggie Q and Moon Bloodgood would be my additions. All your choices are pretty solid too

Well, they had me at Gina Carano. But I do agree they need a couple of more recognizable names on the marquee. But so far so good.
