Alter Egos

Unless Clerks and Red State director Kevin Smith gets his hockey film Hit Somebody off the ground soon, he's pretty much done with filmmaking. However, he will be using his name and clout to help aspiring filmmakers, who might not otherwise have a chance to send their movie to theaters, bring their vision to audiences. One of those endeavors from Smith's Smodcast Pictures distribution banner is Alter Egos, a superhero comedy that loses some of the darkness of Kick-Ass and adds real superpowers. Honestly, it looks like a solid little indie comedy that could have shown up at a film festival. There aren't many familiar names other than Danny Masterson, but this looks like it could be a fun little flick. Check out the trailer below!

Here's the first trailer for Jordan Galland's Alter Egos originally from Yahoo:

Jordan Galland (Slamdance entry Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead) writes and directs Alter Egos. At a time when superheroes have lost government funding and public support, a superhero meets a girl who can help him overcome his own emotional crisis. Kris Lemche, Brooke Nevin, Joey Kern, Christine Evangelista, John Ventimiglia and Danny Masterson all star in the film from Kevin Smith's Smodcast Pictures banner. Alter Egos hits limited theaters this Friday, October 17th, plus VOD on November 20th.

Kevin Smith is a talentless hack. Red State was literally the worst film ever made... ever!

Well, he's only distributing this movie, so maybe you should give another filmmaker a chance.

I don't recall ever saying that I wouldn't give this filmmaker or indeed this film a chance... I just saw Kevin Smith's name and it brought out a HULK like rage within me!!

thats good because despite red state not doing good he did amazing work on both Clerks movies, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike back, etc. what im trying to say is this is right in his alley so dont judge just from Red State.....

"red state" was bad - but, it has no relation to this.

if they just kept the plot for the first half of the trailer then this movie would be pretty funny, but instead they are going with cluttering it with two more uneeded plots that could have had there own movie....
