Kyle Chandler

I don't think anyone is capable of not loving this guy. Kyle Chandler, who we all know from "Friday Night Lights" and Super 8 and Peter Jackson's King Kong, taking on another big role in a feature film. Deadline says Chandler is the latest to join the growing ensemble cast of Kathryn Bigelow's new Navy SEAL Team 6 movie about the hunt for Osama bin Laden. It still doesn't have an official title, besides the temporary Kill Bin Laden, but does include Jason Clarke, Joel Edgerton, Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong and Edgar Ramirez in the cast already. That's actually an impressive line-up of names, especially with Chandler.

The film, from a script written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker), is about the SEAL team's "long hunt" for the Al-Qaeda leader, which came to an end last year when they found him and he was killed. Deadline says "I've heard that Chandler will be playing a CIA agent, but nobody has confirmed any of the cast… so you'll have to take my word for it." Like with the brief Guy Pearce surprise in The Hurt Locker, I'm curious to see who Bigelow actually casts as SEAL members and what their roles really are, but I'm sure everything is going to be kept very secretive on this. We'll continue to keep you updated, shooting should be starting soon, as Columbia Pictures already has this scheduled for release on December 19 later this year. Sound good?
