Lily Collins

Though the actress looks to be in the lesser of the two Snow White films with Mirror, Mirror, that isn't stopping Lily Collins' star from rising after a brief role in The Blind Side helped her land supporting roles in Abduction and Priest, and now she's landed a pretty big role in a gestating horror remake. Bloody Disgusting reports Collins has landed the role of Mia in Fede Alvarez's remake of Sam Raimi's 1981 cult classic film The Evil Dead. The character is one of five friends holed up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead which unleashes a demonic force possessing each until only one is left to fight.

Sounds very similar to the original, but there's a new subplot, and it actually involves Collins' character. Mia is actually heading to the cabin to detox with her friend Olivia who is also her nurse. Meanwhile David is a mechanic engaged to Natalie, and it's been speculated that the final character Eric is the one who unleashes the demons from the Book of the Dead. Of course, since Mia is coming off a recent overdose and begins acting insane, so no one believes her crazy claims of coyote dogs and trees attacking her. The film is slated for release on April 12th, 2013, so we'll have to wait awhile to see how it turns out. Stay tuned.

Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are "The Evil Dead", there's no way in Heaven or Earth that this would work. Stop making stupid remakes.

fuck Diablo Cody up her stupid ass. No no, I'm not some angry series fanboy with a vendetta against remakes. If anything I'm against this "writer" - NO DOUBT we can expect a script filled with hipsterism and fueled with pop culture references. Yeah good idea, let's modernize this and make spin a rehab storyline in there, that should connect to the majority of people going in to see this. And of course she has to lose it, and nobody believes her and bla bla bla. Stupid. fuck this remake

Remake? Oh come on, Mister Sam Raimi. You really hurting that bad you got to do a remake of what once was a great cult hit AND you got to do a Wizard of Oz film...? You've changed, Mister Raimi.
