If you haven't picked up tickets for the midnight premiere or the marathon of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, then you should probably get on that since they've been on sale since Monday, June 11th, and you don't want to be stuck outside crying without a ticket. Of course, if you happen to be unable to see the film as soon as it opens on July 20th, you can feel a bit better knowing you can have Hans Zimmer's presumably awesome score for The Dark Knight Rises in your hands on July 17th. You can pre-order it on Amazon now, and while you wait just one more month, sample some of the tracks below.
Here are some samples of Hans Zimmer's score for The Dark Knight Rises, found via Batman-News:
Eight years after The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to the limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent.
The Dark Knight Rises is once again directed by Oscar nominated British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, of Following, Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception previously. The script was co-written by Christopher & Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight), from a story by Chris Nolan & David S. Goyer (of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight). Warner Bros is bringing The Dark Knight Rises to regular and IMAX theaters everywhere July 20th, 2012 this summer. The Legend Ends…

People who go to a midnight screening for a 2hr45m film are truly dedicated. I, on the other hand, am just going to go on opening day at a more reasonable time.

Or really obsessed. 😉 I went to the triple feature midnight premiere of LotR: Return of the King. 10 hours in the theater; I think I can handle TDKR. I mean, it's not like I'm ridiculously excited and dying of impatience to see it or anything. Nope, not at all.

I saw TDK at midnight on IMAX, then caught every screening in a row the next day at my local UltraScreen.

Where is the reprise of 'Molossus' -- The Batman's theme from BATMAN BEGINS? I realize this is only a bite from each track, and some may be held back for a second volume release, or complete score release. But paraphrasing Hans Zimmer, Batman's theme was absent from THE DARK KNIGHT because that film's story was a bout tragedy and trial for the character, not triumph -- he said the triumph that the theme underscores would be earned by the next film, where it would again be appropriate. No hint of it here, though...

Somebody in marketing had to go through the album and clip the samples out, junkfuzz. Why would they leave out the most recognizable cue in the series (save for the one that caps the trailers)? They're posting samples to sell us the soundtrack. The track listing is here, too, and I don't see 'Molossus' anywhere. I might still be wrong, but probably not. If you want to grow up to be a smartass, you ought to practice being smart.

Was "Molossus" listed on TDK soundtrack? No, but yet was played in the movie. How can that be? It wasn't listed... Hmm. And sorry, it's not Batman's theme. But you can hear it in Why Do We Fall

Is it just me or does the fire rises in the prologue sound similar to one winged angel when it begins? lol

despite the horribly compressed bitrates and low quality this just sounds epic. Love it.

despite agreeing with it being epic, complaining about the bitrate and quality of sample tracks?

I would bet that 'Mind If I Cut In' is a catwoman introduction or recurring theme. It sounds like it has the perfect balance between quirky and dark. From ALL the footage and interviews I deduce that she isn't 'transformed' after a psychological ordeal like in Tim Burton's interpretation. She is a cat-burglar, hence the 'cat-woman' nickname. That is perfect. Jonathan Nolan said she's going to be terrific and will threaten to steal the show. Anne is going to be jizz-in-my-pants AMAZING!
