Thor / Mads Mikkelsen

Well, the new Silence of the Lambs TV series adaptation "Hannibal" is really screwing things up for Marvel comic book movie fans. First of all, yesterday David Slade was said to no longer be directing the Daredevil reboot because of his schedule to direct the pilot for the new series on NBC. Now another scheduling issue has come up for on screen talent this time. Zoomin Movies (via The Playlist) recently spoke with Mads Mikkelsen, who will be playing Hannibal Lecter in the new series, and he revealed that his schedule for the show will not allow him to play the villain in Thor 2, as we had heard a little while back. Well, that blows.

We're still not sure who Mikkelsen would have been playing, but his talent would've made for a great comic book bad guy to face off against Chris Hemworth as Thor in the sequel from "Game of Thrones" director Alan Taylor. So now we're left without a lead villain, though Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki, and we're not sure who else will step up for the part. Could we maybe find out this week during Marvel's panel at Comic-Con? There have been rumblings of a few surprises at the panel, so maybe some casting news would  be part of that. Either way, the next phase of Marvel's cinematic universe will come to light very soon.

Seems WB and DC aren't the only companies suffering losses when it comes to their projects.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Well this sucks. I was looking forward to Mikkelsen going head to head with Hemsworth. I loved him as the villain in Casino Royale

The Silence of the Lambs series better be awesome, if we are to lose Mikkelsen for TV for a while. Also, losing Slade for "Daredevil" kinda sucks --that hero deserves a reboot and Slade's grittiness (I won't hold "Breaking Dawn" against him) could be a solution.

After his performance as "One Eye" I was really excited to see Mads play another Scandinavian role.

So it's fair to say that Hannibal the Cannibal is cannibalizing some Marvel projects 🙁 Damn you Hannibal!!! I really have no plans on watching this series. I just can't see a free over the air network doing the character justice. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong

I didn't get a memo about Silence of the Lambs TV series being made? Could be cuz they know I (we?) don't care about it.

Too bad, I really loved the idea of actually having a scandinavian in a Thor film.
