Matthew McConaughey 'Dazed and Confused' Again in a Music Video

"That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age." No matter how quickly his star rose, it's fair to say that no character brought to life by Matthew McConaughey will be quite as well-remembered as Wooderson in Richard Linklater's quintessential coming-of-age film Dazed and Confused. Now The Lincoln Lawyer himself makes a rare return as the character (and even more rare turn with a shirt on) in a music video for Butch Walker and the Black Widows tune Synthesizers from his new album The Spade. The music video is pretty great and even Linklater fully supports it. Watch!
Here's the music video for Synthesizers starring Matthew McConaughey courtesy of THR:
Walker told the trade, "When it comes to classic characters, Matthew McConaughey's Wooderson took the cake and the high school girls with him." I have to admit it's pretty great seeing McConaughey decked out in those pink pants and Bob Marley t-shirt complete with cigarettes rolled up the sleeve. It almost makes me wonder what Wooderson would be up to all these years later. However, I'm not curious enough to want a sequel to the cult classic, so don't get any ideas, Hollywood. Frankly, I'm pleased with this short return of the character lip syncing and still looking cool as hell in the club. Has McConaughey even aged since 1993?

"I have to admit it's pretty great seeing McConaughey decked out in those pink pants and Bob Marley t-shirt...." Uh, that's not Bob Marley, it's Ted Nugent. More specifically, The picture on Wooderson's shirt was the cover of the 'Tooth, Fang and Claw' LP by Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes.

I'll never understand why things like this exist. What exactly does this terrible song and imagery/character have to do with one another?
