Well, we may not be getting a Shaun of the Dead LEGO set, but there just might be something better coming from LEGO. As part of the site called Cuusoo - where a community of LEGO fans vote on custom sets, and those who get the necessary 10,000 votes of support are sent before a real LEGO jury to determine whether or not they want to put the set into production - a Back to the Future set re-creating the DeLorean time machine with LEGO pieces received the right number of votes and has been approved by LEGO and has been selected to go into production with a planned release for sometime next year. Great Scott! Read on!
Here's the video from Cuusoo announcing Back to the Future as one of the winning sets at LEGO:
Cuusoo says, "After analyzing the supporters of the Back to the Future project, we learned that this product has a broad, worldwide appeal. The model presented in this project is built very closely to the LEGO Group’s design standards and has therefore provided a strong base to design the final product. It has a high play value and it fits well with supporters’ price expectations." As for how the final product will look and when it will hit shelves, they say, "The final product is still in development in coordination with our license partner, Universal Partnerships & Licensing. We'll show the final model and you’ll be able to order your own copy when it becomes available in mid-2013 (exact dates and pricing to be determined)." Either way, this is fantastic news, and I can't wait to toss this right on my shelf with my brand new hoverboard. Cool, right?

Does he have the BTTF part 2 DeLorean there, with Mr. Fusion? Will they be making a specific version for each of the movies?
