Missi Pyle and Yvette Nicole Brown Join the 'Percy Jackson' Sequel

Last summer we learned that Hotel for Dogs and Diary of a Wimpy Kid director Thor Freudenthal would be behind the sequel Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Sea of Monsters with Agent Cody Banks and Ed Wood writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski scripting. However, no cast beyond returning stars Logan Lerman (as out titular hero), Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson were known. Now THR has word that Missi Pyle (The Artist) Yvette Nicole Brown ("Community") and Mary Birdsong (The Descendants) will play the three fates, white-robed personifications of destiny in Greek myth. Read on!
As we learned last summer though, the adventure will indeed follow Percy and his group of friends as they head to the Sea of Monsters to find the mythical Golden Fleece and to free a friend who has been captured there, but this sequel is expected to take some cues from the other books as well. "Big Love" co-star Douglas Smith is also supposed to have a supporting role, but his character has not yet been revealed. Hopefully, much like Alfonso Cuaron and other directors expanded upon Chris Columbus' launch of the Harry Potter franchise, so too can Freudenthal do the same with Percy Jackson.

Never saw the first one. No interest. Won't see this either, just wanted to say that Missi Pyle is so hot in a very odd way.

Is that trolling? Why don't you have something original to say than repeating that tired expression. Lemming.

It took me ages to see the first one but I was very pleasantly surprised when I did. Really good movie. Look forward to the second.

I am looking forward to this! It's like Harry Potter, only in the Greek mythology! I feel sorry for those who have no interest, but rather see boring Wood Allen movies.

Woody Allen films are anything but boring. Actually they're very interesting and fun to watch. That can't be said about Percy Jackson though, which is the boring one, imo. I respect your opinion, but I firmly disagree with it.

It's not that we have no intrest, we just hate how horribly they made the movie and how.... let's see......... turned 12 year olds to 16 year olds to attempt to get a wider viewing.... whatever..... which will completely ruin the entire series!!!

First one was meh, it was ok for kids. What they did with hades and medusa bugged me, but I love movies centered around mythology so I take what I can get. I'd be interested to watch the second but I'd be just fine to wait until it's on hbo or streaming netflix-no rush here

why continue a movie based on a book when you already took out the plot of the prophecy
