Bullet to the Head

Around the time that The Expendables 2 came out, the first trailer for Sylvester Stallone's action thriller Bullet to the Head was released. Honestly, the film felt like a parody, but not in the way that The Expendables franchise delivers over-the-top action with cheesy jokes. Now an international trailer for the film from 48 Hrs. director Walter Hill has arrived. Jason Momoa plays the villain facing off against Sylvester Stallone this time, but I feel like this is going to be another disappointment for the actor as he continues to try and land a breakthrough role for the next phase of his career. However, I hope I'm wrong.

Here's the international trailer for Walter Hill's Bullet to the Head, originally from MSN UK:

Bullet to the Head is directed by Walter Hill (The Warriors, 48 Hrs.) and written by Alessandro Camon (The Messenger) with Sylvester Stallone playing a New Orleans hitman who teams with a New York City detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge. The film also features Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jon Seda and Holt McCallany. Warner Bros originally had this set for release in 2012, but Bullet to the Head was pushed back to hit theaters starting February 1st, 2013 next year. Thoughts?

I thought CopLand was supposed to be movie that transitioned Sly into the next phase of his career?

Tom Brazelton on Sep 28, 2012

No, I meant Jason Momoa.

Sorry. Poor reading comprehension.

Tom Brazelton on Sep 28, 2012

Copland was great I thought, Stallone should have retired on that one.

In the thumbnail photo for the trailer it looks like Stallone's face is sliding off.

Bobo_Vision on Sep 28, 2012

This will be thumbed down by all the manboob estrogen filled dudes who get stiffies from Stallone.

he he he! 😉

Ok so we know he kills Christian Slater, along with the rest of his career.....Poor Chrissy, douchebag roles after douchebag roles.....

I guess I'm the only one here who thinks that looks like good, old-fashioned Walter Hill pulpy fun? If you enjoyed Extreme Prejudice, Red Heat or 48Hrs, this seems like a return to form. It's nice to see an old war horse like Hill back on the big screen. This guy made The Warriors and The Driver, and rewrote Alien. Cut him some slack.

WTF??? No one knocked Hill. Who pissed in your soup?

TheRagingCajun on Sep 28, 2012

My soup is distinctly urine-free thanks. Or at least it was until you turned up. The article is negative about the potential of the film based on the trailers ("...the film felt like a parody..." "...I feel like this is going to be another disappointment for [Jason Momoa]...") - and that's not a unique viewpoint. Most of the bloggers' reactions have been lukewarm at best and I don't see why. It looks like fun to me. Still, thanks for taking the time to offer your delightful feedback. Much appreciated. EDIT: A further clarification for the intellectually-impaired - I'm referring to this specific article and bloggers' reactions in general, not the responses of people in the comments section.

Plenty more where that came from, douchy. And by the way, you must be high on crack 'cuz no one knocked Hill on this entire page. I dunno, maybe you read some other posts on other sites and you bring them up here, pretending in your little numbskull we all understand what the fuck you're talking about. Pretty disturbed, you are. Chill pill, you should take.

TheRagingCajun on Sep 29, 2012

There's only one angry, disturbed individual around here who needs to take a chill pill. The news item is negative about the film, which is directed by Walter Hill. How is that logical connection so difficult to make?

get off the pedestal

I know. It's so annoying when people make articulate, well-reasoned posts isn't it? Completely goes against the spirit of the internet.

Also known as Cliche' Town....
