"I'm just a man hiding in the corner with a camera… watching." Fox Searchlight has finally debuted the trailer for Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock, featuring Sir Anthony Hopkins as legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, during the making of Psycho. While the film hasn't played at any festivals, they did schedule it last-minute for a November release. It covers Hitchcock's romance with Alma Reville, played by Helen Mirren, and work with Janet Leigh, played by Scarlett Johansson. This looks delightfully entertaining, cinematically fascinating, and deviously superb. I'm now very much looking forward to seeing it. Must see!
Watch the first official trailer for Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock, in high def from Apple:
Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) is directing Hitchcock, written by John McLaughlin (Black Swan) and based on the book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello. Anthony Hopkins plays director Alfred Hitchcock and is supported by a great cast including Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D'Arcy and more. The film, a love story, takes place during the making of Hitchcock's seminal film Psycho. Fox Searchlight opens Hitchcock in limited theaters on November 23rd, Friday after Thanksgiving, the same week as Life of Pi, Red Dawn and People's Choice winner Silver Linings Playbook. Toby Jones is actually starring in a ripoff of this Hitchcock movie, made for HBO tv and everything...and he looks/sounds nothing like Hitch. I'm looking forward to Hopkins in this one!

Actually not half bad. Anthony Hopkins is like Denzel Washington or Tom Hanks...you just can't go wrong when they're involved

i'm a big fan of hitchcocks work - but, i'm not really excited to see a movie ABOUT hitchcock. for those that are interested - this looks very good.

It's as much about society at the time of Hitchcock's work as it is about the man himself, if not more (judging from the trailer). To each his own, but to me I'm very excited to see how this informs one's opinion of a brilliant filmmaker.

Sweet i love the edition in this trailer, looks pretty cool. However it's hard to not think in Anthony Hopkins with his particular voice. Otherwise is a legend interpreting a legend. i'm so there

Looks fantastic and is a compelling trailer - but also a good example of why I generally don't watch them until after I've seen the movie, and had to bail half way through this one. It shows the whole damn movie!

I like how it's both about Hitchcock AND the insane amount of censorship pressure during that time when Psycho came out.
