Now this is pretty damn cool. For those of you who have stopped watching trailers and footage for Looper for fear of spoiling the time traveling, sci-fi thriller from director Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom), we have something cool for you to watch. Yes, it's a new trailer, but it doesn't feature any new or spoiler-ridden footage. In fact, it's this spectacular animated trailer that using a paintbrush art style to recreate shots we've already seen. There's no dialogue, a cool piece of music, and some stellar artwork on display here that should hold audiences over until the actual film finally hits theaters this weekend. Watch!

Here's the animated trailer for Rian Johnson's Looper originally from Apple:

Be sure to watch the theatrical trailer for Looper if you haven't yet, and join the growing Looper Network.
In 2072, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, a target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who learns they want to "close the loop" by sending back Joe's future self.

Looper is the third film from Rian Johnson following his breakout hit Brick and The Brothers Bloom after that. Looper focuses on a mobster named Joe, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The movie also stars Piper Perabo, Jeff Daniels and Paul Dano. Looper hits theaters everywhere starting on September 28th this fall.

Awesome. One of the best (atleast one of the most creative) trailers I've seen in a while.

I personally did not find anything special about this trailer other than the effort put forth. Still stoked for the movie.

I love it when a studio realizes that they have pegged a movie for a September release and they need to go the extra mile to build awareness and promote the film. Things like this are cool and inventive ways to get the word out. On the other hand, Lionsgate dropped the ball completely with Dredd.

I've been pumped for this movie since I saw the first trailer come out, and based on the reviews and footage shown I don't think i will be disappointed, if not I will probably be amazed, highly looking forward to this weekend.

I think "Numb" would have fit over this trailer nicely too!
