Must Watch: Refreshing Romantic Comedy 'Save the Date' First Trailer

Earlier this year, I had the honor of seeing the quintessential romantic comedy that is Save the Date at Sundance. However, calling it just another romantic comedy disregards the raw emotion and genuine passion that is on display in this film from writer and director Michael Mohan. The lovely duo of Lizzy Caplan and Alison Brie lead the film as two sisters, each dealing with love on completely different levels. Mark Webber, Martin Starr and Geoffrey Arend round out the supporting cast, each putting in grounded and even breakthrough performances. This is one of those indies you want to go out of your way to catch, and the first trailer has finally arrived! Check out my Sundance review here, and watch the trailer!
Here's the first trailer for Michael Mohan's Save the Date via Michael Mohan:
After an ill-timed and very public marriage proposal, fiercely independent Sarah (Lizzy Caplan) breaks up with her overeager boyfriend Kevin (Geoffrey Arend). Sarah turns to her sister Beth (Alison Brie) for support, but Beth is too busy obsessing over the details of her own wedding to Kevin’s band mate, Andrew (Martin Starr). When Sarah suddenly finds herself caught up in an intense rebound romance with the adorable Jonathan (Mark Webber), she is forced to examine her own fears of commitment and vulnerability. With honesty, heart, and humor, all five struggle to deal with modern love. Michael Mohan wrote and directed Save the Date which hits VOD on November 8th and limited theaters December 14th. Good?

I read "bittersweet" one too many times. I know the ending now. That's just sad. I will still watch it when it comes out.

i wouldn't call this "raw emotion and genuine passion" - i'd call it "confused people and cutesy".....pass.
