Must Watch: Ryan Gosling in First Trailer for 'Place Beyond the Pines'
Nearly three years ago, director Derek Cianfrance teamed with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams for the heart wrenching drama Blue Valentine. Now Cianfrance is back with a new film starring Gosling called The Place Beyond the Pines. The film follows Gosling as a professional motorcycler who turns to robbing banks in order to support his newborn son. Alex caught the film at TIFF earlier this year and called it mesmerizing. This trailer seems to echo his statements, as it looks like a truly original and captivating drama. Bradley Cooper also stars in the film as a rookie police officer hot on his tail. Watch the trailer!
Here's the first trailer for Derek Cianfrance's The Place Beyond the Pines, originally from Yahoo:
Luke (Ryan Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies in order to support his newborn son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Bradley Cooper), their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud. The Place Beyond the Pines traces the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains. Derek Cianfrance (see our interview here) directs the film and also wrote the script with Ben Coccio and Darius Marder. The cast also includes Rose Byrne and Eva Mendes. Focus Features is releasing the film to limited theaters next year on March 29th, 2013.
Wasn't expecting that. Down for it!

It's called truthful acting.

Intense. And at the same time, it looks like it lulls you into a meaningful story. I need to see this.

let's hope you are wrong because I for one found Drive to be a letdown... it really needed a big final act, imo >.<

Great trailer. Saw just enough to want to see it but didn't feel like it gave everything away. What was the song playing in the beginning?
