Must Watch: Touching and Cinematic Tribute to the Late Tony Scott
by Ethan Anderton
September 4, 2012
It's been two weeks since the industry was shocked by the death of filmmaker Tony Scott, a man who delivered pure adrenaline in almost every film and had a blockbuster action sensibility and style all his own. Though many outlets have paid tribute to the late director by remembering his greatest films and influences that will remain in cinema for decades to come, the master of a visual medium deserves a tribute in that very same format. Thankfully, the folks at JoBlo put together this reel simply and respectfully titled You're So Cool, complete with some of the best moments from Tony Scott's filmography. It's a great tribute. Watch it.
Here's the tribute video You're So Cool for the late Tony Scott, from Nick Bosworth at JoBlo:
Nick Bosworth from JoBlo says: "His death affected me deeply as I consider myself to be partly raised by his films given Top Gun was actually the first movie I ever saw with my parents. For over 30 years Tony has blazed a path of incredible film-making which is why I on behalf of JoBlo.com wanted to create this special video dedication in his honor. We wish all the best to his friends and family and also to every fan around the world. You're so cool Tony, you're so cool." At the end, take note of where to send donations on behalf of Tony Scott and his family for a scholarship fund. Tony Scott was a great filmmaker and will truly be missed.

hear, hear.. amen and damned straight. Michael Bay should be thanking Simpson/Bruckheimer for showing him the Scott template.

I think AMC Theatres should do an all day Tony Scott tribute showing all his films, it might take days or a week but I'll buy a ticket for that if it happened. It would be nice to appreciate the art of all his own work on the screen again.

He was one of those film makers that will be missed more and more as time goes on, as the standards for a classic film get higher and higher, and original ideas get fewer and fewer.

This and the show reel over at RSA recap a great career. Amongst my filmmaking friends and I, we always said "WWTD", WhatWouldTonyDo, when stuck in some odd decision we had to make 🙂 From time to time, Firstshowing "bumps" an article higher up, maybe this one could stay on the first page a week? At times the load can be too great, and yesterdays page 1 becomes tomorrows page 4.

Thank you Nick. I haven't been able to watch a Tony Scott blu ray since... everything. I've actually been watching Ridley to get prepared to put on a Tony Scott film. I believe your Tribute has made it possible for me to listen to his commentaries.... Thanks again
