By now audiences know that Jason Bourne was just the tip of the iceberg as Jeremy Renner rises up as a genetically modified entity in The Bourne Legacy who finds his life thrown into upheaval because of the events in the first three Bourne films starring Matt Damon. The most recent trailer and a handful of TV spots have been nothing short of impressive, and now a new featurette takes us behind the scene of this spin-off/sequel which brings the first films' writer Tony Gilroy back as director this time. There's some great new footage and interviews with the cast, including newcomers Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz.
Here's a new featurette for Tony Gilroy's The Bourne Legacy originally from Apple:
Introduces us to a new hero whose life-or-death stakes were triggered by events in the first three movies.
The Bourne Legacy is both written and directed by American filmmaker Tony Gilroy, who started his career as a writer of scripts like Armageddon, Bait, Proof of Life and the original Bourne Trilogy, before writing & directing Michael Clayton and Duplicity. This screenplay, while not based on any specific Robert Ludlum novel, was rewritten until its current form, credited to Tony Gilroy and his brother Dan Gilroy (The Fall, Real Steel). Universal is bringing The Bourne Legacy to theaters everywhere on August 10th this summer.

"... which brings the first film's director Tony Gilroy back to the franchise." Are you referring to The Bourne Identity? Tony Gilroy was a writer on that film; but it was directed by Doug Liman.

It was a case of a misplaced apostrophe and Freudian slip of director instead of writer. I've made a correction.

Renner looks like a bit like an angry turnip in the top photo. All the footage I have seeen looks to be a shameless, soul-less rip-off of Ultimatum. Nope.

This is going to be really fun to watch, as long as they drop that stupid Greengrass shakycam nonsense.

I liked the shaky Cam. This looks ok but only reason to watch is if you love Renner. Looks like been there done that. Should be a decent action movie.
