New 'Man of Steel' Trailer But NOT 'The Wolverine' with 'The Hobbit'

Man of Steel / The Wolverine

Briefly: Whether or not you're excited about The Hobbit, it sounds like the first part of the Peter Jackson adaptation is going to be the movie to see this winter if you want to catch the hottest trailers on the big screen. We already know a 9-minute prologue for Star Trek Into Darkness will arrive with select IMAX 3D screenings of the film, and a regular theatrical trailer will hit the rest of the traditional 2D and 3D theaters. Now Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide (via Comic Book Movie) reports that a new trailer for Man of Steel and the first teaser for The Wolverine will make their debut before The Hobbit as well. Of course, these trailers could arrive online before or just shortly thereafter The Hobbit hits theaters, so stay tuned.

UPDATE: Contrary to this news yesterday, The Wolverine director James Mangold updated Twitter with disappointing news. The director says: "Contrary to reports, there will be no trailer on THE HOBBIT for THE WOLVERINE. You will get a glimpse early 2013. I promise." So there you have it. Disappointing, but at least we still have Man of Steel, Star Trek Into Darkness, likely del Toro's Pacific Rim and a few others, too.

You can now see the new trailers for Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel and Pacific Rim as well.

As if I wasn't excited enough to see the Hobbit in theaters.

Pacific Rim is expected/rumored to debut it's trailer with The Hobbit, and now Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel, and Wolverine are as well....the trailers alone will be worth half the ticket price!
