Nick Cassavetes to Direct Kristen Stewart in Gritty Action Flick 'Cali'

One is known for moving back and forth between directing romance films like The Notebook and thrillers like Alpha Dog while the other is known for biting her lip incessantly and falling in love with sparkly vampires. Now director Nick Cassavetes and The Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart (who hopefully sheds her bland skin by kicking ass in Snow White and the Huntsman) will work together on a gritty new action film called Cali. The film, written by Michael Diliberti (30 Minutes or Less) follows two lovebirds who sell a fake snuff film and ride off with a bundle of cash. But that's just the beginning of the gritty story.
Years after their score, the girl (Stewart) must come back to save the younger sister she left behind. Variety says Diliberti developed the script on spec before it got picked up by Voltage and that's when Stewart got on board. As of now, it's hard for me to picture Stewart posing a real threat to anybody, but I'm hoping that opinion changes after seeing her with a sword and armor in Snow White and the Huntsman next month. She'll also be producing for her first time alongside Craig J. Flores (300) and Zev Foreman (Killer Joe), so it sounds like this will be quite an action-packed thriller indeed.

lol I guess Twillight really ruined her likeability. She was o.k. in The Runaways. And the picture is not bad either.Reminds me of my ex.

Yeah, she is easy on the eyes, but she is forever cursed. She was also great in Panic Room.

Never watched a Twilight, guess I'm not the target audience. She was brilliant and utterly convincing in The Runaways. Versatility... what's wrong with that?

She is known for bitting her lips and falling in love with sparkly vampires. The girl has been in 30 movies and that's what she is known for. Watch her other movies than say that. Her first full role in 'The safety of objects' was mind blowing. I cried after Speak, The cake eaters and Welcome to the Riley's. Now, someone already mentioned Panic Room and The runaways. Kristen'smight not be great at interviews and smiling at paparazzi and reporters. But, her body of works at 22 is pretty impressive. So please Kristen happened to stumble into Twilight which at first was supposed to be an indie. But critics and film reporters had developed an undeserved prejudice against her just by watching Twilight that is so not fair.

Do me a favor and ask anyone what Kristen Stewart is most known for, and it won't be the small indie Welcome to the Rileys or a role as a much younger teen in Panic Room or The Safety of Objects. She's best know for The Twlight Saga. It's a fact. I've seen plenty of Kristen Stewart's other performances in indies and dramas, and she's yet to impress me. Also, I don't know how you think Twilight was supposed to be an indie since it got picked up from a studio right away.

"Stewart is very open about her love for weed and her distaste for the promotional aspects of movie making." I think she's a pretty awesome and honest person and I'm glad she's getting a shot in Hollywood. After the first time I saw her in Into the Wild I knew she was going to be a star so I'm glad she put all that Twilight crap behind her. http://www.ranker.com/list/top-14-celebrities-caught-getting-high-on-camera/john-barryman http://www.thcfinder.com/uploads/files/kristen-stewart-smoking-marijuana-large-msg-122838160296.jpg http://s-ak.buzzfed.com/static/imagebuzz/web02/2009/2/5/18/kristen-stewart-promotes-pot-while-wearing-a-bikin-17450-1233875359-14.jpg http://gossipteen.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/kristen-rolling-joint-5.jpg

I thought she was pretty good in Welcome to the Rileys and I love She's So Lovely which Cassavetes directed written by his father. This could be great lets wait and see.
