One Big Testosterone Line-Up on Huge New 'Expendables 2' Banner

The Expendables 2

The last poster for The Expendables 2 took the same route as one of the theatrical posters for The Dark Knight Rises be engulfing everything in flames. Of course, since the ensemble action film has to fit in nearly a dozen action stars on one poster, it felt a little more like a phoned in Photoshop job. Thankfully, a new huge banner with the whole line-up is a bit better. There's no flames or typical embers floating around. It's Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, Jean Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Liam Hemsworth in rubble. Look!

Here's the big banner for Simon West's The Expendables 2 from Cine1 via ComingSoon:

The Expendables 2 - Banner

Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should've been an easy job, but when one of their men is murdered, their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat.

The Expendables 2 is directed by British filmmaker Simon West, of movies like Con Air, The General's Daughter, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Purple Mountain and The Mechanic previously. The screenplay was written by Sylvester Stallone, who directed the first one but not this one. Lionsgate is releasing Expendables 2 from Millennium Films / Nu Image starting on August 17th later this summer. You in for this one!?

Guess you are, too.

A lot of people do. Loved the first one, and this looks even better. Its not so much about the script, its about a bunch of cinema badasses, some of whom I grew up watching, getting back in it and fucking shit up. Its brainless fun, nothing wrong with that. And Scott Pilgrim was great.

At least this one has a decent director attached. That poster is awful though, heavily photoshoped and so un-original it hurts - not one character stands out and it just looks like a means to make sly look bigger than the rest - arnie and van damme look shadowed in this.

I'm glad they changed it ; previously they had Avery Brooks pictured with no mention of his name and STILL ! not in that paragraph . Is he in the movie ??
