'Parks & Rec' Star Nick Offerman Joins Diablo Cody's 'Lamb of God'

Nick Offerman

Though screenwriter Diablo Cody has seen her work turned into spectacular films like Young Adult and Juno, she's now ready to take her own words to the big screen as director with a new drama featuring an interesting cast that includes Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, recent Oscar nominee Octavia Spencer and Holly Hunter. Now another great name has signed on for Lamb of God as Deadline has word that Nick Offerman, who brings the laughs as the meat-loving government hating Ron Swanson from "Parks & Recreation" will have a supporting role in the film. However, it's not clear what character he'll be playing.

For those just joining us, the film was previously said to follow a sheltered young woman (Hough) who loses her faith after a plane crash and decides to go to Las Vegas to experience the wild side of life.  On her journey, she meets an unlikely companion (Brand) who inadvertently helps her find her true self. However, Deadline seems to have learned a bit more as they describe the project as following a young evangelical woman who denounces God after a tragic plane crash that left one-third of her body severely burned. Angry, she leaves her parents and church in Washington, D.C. for Las Vegas where she attempts to re-discover herself. Though Cody is know for kitschy, quirky dialogue, she held that back with Young Adult, so I'm interested to see how she tackles this kind of story.
