Peter Berg and Will Smith Have Some Ideas for a 'Hancock' Sequel

Though international superstar Will Smith has starred in several blockbusters, only Bad Boys and Men in Black (watch the trailer for the third installment here) have warranted not just one but two sequels. However, there have been rumblings about sequels to I, Robot and Hancock, despite no real development on either. Recently though, director Peter Berg spoke with Comic Book Movie (via The Playlist) and revealed a sequel to the latter superpowered blockbuster might still be in the cards. Berg says, "We've been talking about the sequel between us, Will Smith, [producers] Michael Mann and Akiva Goldsman and myself."
Berg continued, "We're all interested, but we literally just have trouble getting into the same room at the same time. We did have a series of meetings last year and started to hash out an idea for sequel -- and Will Smith actually had the idea -- so I think it will happen, it's just a question of timing." It's not a guarantee, but The Playlist points out that back in 2009 Berg wanted everyone back and had a new super villain in mind too. "The Shield" writers Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara were already hired to script a sequel, but it sounds like the sequel might be starting over from scratch. While Hancock wasn't all that fantastic, I'd be interested to see where a sequel goes, that is if it even ends up coming together.

Didn't they say all they needed to say with the first one?

I'm probably one of the few that actually enjoyed the first one but there's really no need for a sequel....

I liked the first one, there was some cheese, but overall it was good. I would like to see a prequel instead, see who created them, some of the other story lines, etc. Maybe ending with Will Smith's character getting his head busted open and waking up with no memories.

"While Hancock wasn't all that fantastic, I'd be interested to see where a sequel goes." You took the words right out of my mouth. My biggest problem was no villian. I mean, 3 goons break out of prison and decide to jump him at the hospital. What exactly did they think they could do to a superhuman whose impervious to bullets, unless they knew he was weak at the time, in which case...how?

There's already technically a sequel to I Robot in the works... if you count Foundation 🙂

There's no "ifs", "ands", or "buts" about it; this "movie" was freaking aweful. Just like everything else he's made after I Robot. Now there's going to be a sequal? They could help, feed, house, and rehabilitate homeless people and change lives with the money they're going to burn on this film
