The Hobbit Video Blog

"Shouldn't you be killing orcs or something?" Hooray, it's time for another fantastic production video blog from Peter Jackson for The Hobbit. This time, Jackson takes us on a tour of Stone Street studios, where they're shooting most of the on-set shots. If you've wanted to make movies, this is an extraordinary inside look at every last person and place and thing that goes into making a movie, such an amazing little video. There are surprise appearances by the dwarves, Luke Evans giving a "trailer park" tour and even Orlando Bloom, plus many others, so take a look and don't miss yet another awesome Hobbit video blog!

Watch the seventh video blog for The Hobbit below, or head to Facebook for HD (watch to the end!):

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit… The Hobbit, being directed by Peter Jackson in two separate parts, is set in Middle-earth 60 years before Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in a trilogy ten years ago. The Hobbit films, with screenplays by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson, will be shot consecutively in digital 3D using the latest camera technology. The Hobbit follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey arrives in theaters in 3D/48FPS December 14th.

Always love these.

I always wondered why Jackson hesitated to direct The Hobbit because in these videos it seems like the entire cast and crew is one giant family who immensely enjoy working with each other.

Don't you realize you are in the wrong line of work when you watch these The Hobbit Blog's? 🙂

I knew a girl that worked in costume on the first LOTR film and said even though her job was pretty much carrying clothes around it was still an amazing experience. Book a flight Dave, there's still time!

Entirely the reason why I'm now doing a Film Production degree! 😀

That barrel scene looks like a lot of fun.
