Prometheus Trailer Landed

"Brace for entry!" I was just about to shut down in preparation for tomorrow's debut of the full 2:33-long trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus, but noticed The Film Stage said an "extended trailer" was out. This completely separate trailer comes in at only 1:11, much shorter than what we're supposed to see, but is still packed full of amazing new footage. This was found by, but they don't have any other info to add either about why it's so short, but oh man does it look absolutely phenomenal. They keep throwing more out and it's looking better and better every shot. There are a few "holy shit!" moments.

Watch the official IMAX promo trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus, in standard def, from this site:

The full-length second official trailer for Prometheus has also debuted, and you can watch it right here!

A team of explorers find a clue to the origins of man on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe… There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus is directed by legendary Oscar nominated filmmaker Ridley Scott, who started it all with Alien and Blade Runner, also directing Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, American Gangster, Body of Lies and Robin Hood most recently. The screenplay was originally written by Jon Spaihts (The Darkest Hour), then updated by Damon Lindelof of "Lost" and Cowboys & Aliens, Star Trek 2. Fox has Prometheus set to hit theaters in 3D starting June 8th this summer. Visit Weyland Corp.

Jesus. I don't think I could handle this in IMAX, much less 3D. Too much awesome.

Scotty97 on Mar 16, 2012

LOL I totally agree....I mean holy shit! This looks AMAZING!!!!

Buzzfunk on Mar 17, 2012

ITS LIKE FINDING THE ANSWER TO OUR CREATION!!!!!....oh wait that's what they are doing....

Jericho on Mar 17, 2012

Eyes...burning...can't take more awesomeness....

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

I know I just saw the xenomorph's head and a face hugger. ūüėÄ

Dalton Weaver on Mar 16, 2012

Definitely saw a Space Jockey...but yeah, also saw what looked like the tail of a facehugger.

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

Alb_met on Mar 17, 2012

Im pretty sure Scott said there are no FH in this movie. Maybe an earlier species? WHo knows. and I dont know wanna more...

Buzzfunk on Mar 18, 2012

No you saw a creator go up into the arm of a space and then he got sprayed with something I think it was a David android? but since they aren't in order it's hard to say who got acid in the face. It happens at 13 seconds in.

Lee Gaddies on Apr 9, 2012

ohhhh. myyyyy. goddddd. the wait for this is too unbearable

bat0u on Mar 16, 2012

Totally amazing. Love seeing the space jockey come together. Really cool stuff.

DaftBot on Mar 16, 2012

Cant wait for the movie!

Josh on Mar 16, 2012

SO MUCH hyperbole going through my mind right now. I absolutely love the structure of this trailer. So trippy and original compared to the structure of most trailers these days, which use so many cliches that it gets annoying. The space jockey suit shot literally made my eyes light up.

DrBathroomMD on Mar 16, 2012

If John Carter rocked the IMAX (it did- just pay attention to who's who(m) ;)), THIS will be better.

Tim Martin on Mar 16, 2012

i don't know what the duck i just saw, but i want to see it NAO!

Roderick on Mar 16, 2012

I will rob an old woman to watch this film.

CookieMonster on Mar 23, 2012

Ridley rules!

Chjapa on Mar 17, 2012

This trailer, fellow film nerds, is amazing. Sure some of you love Avengers and whatnot but...this looks like true art. It looks special for sure and I cannot even think how this will look on IMAX in 3D. I mean, holy fucking shit. What else is there left to say, if you love this genre?? What else?  Nothing.

Buzzfunk on Mar 17, 2012

Ridley Scott has returned to science fiction; enough said.

Isildur_of_Numenor on Mar 17, 2012

21 mean "SCI FI" has returned with Ridley Scott.

Saenker on Mar 17, 2012

you both mean he has returned to combine Sci-Fi & Horror once again......

Notalent on Mar 17, 2012

Ridley Scott is back where he belongs, directing science fiction and is going to make a spectacle of this film, it is going to scare the shit outta everyone, the most anticipated film of the summer for me, Ridley Scott is Master! and I say that after watching his best, The Duellist, Blade Runner, Alien, Legend, 1492, Thelma and Louise, White Squall, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men, A Good Year i dont care what anybody says that film was great, Kingdom of Heaven directors cut, American Gangster, Robin Hood directors cut

RockySullivan1938 on Mar 17, 2012

noomi rapace in her underwear... echoing weaver in the first?

Ryderup on Mar 17, 2012

Rob a woman? If someone said you can watch it this weekend on imax but you have to spend 2 hours satisfying an 80 year old...I'm in!!!

The_roxsta on Mar 17, 2012

Oh my God. I have to somehow stop watching these. It is just to brilliant not to go in as blind as I can to get the most EPIC movie going experience I am likely to got for some years.

Hotchips on Mar 17, 2012

Agreed, I think I've already seen too much with this one, got to stop watching, exercise discipline....

Simon124 on Mar 17, 2012

I really hope the film turns out to be good.  I'm still burning mad over the sh*tstorm heaped on a great film like JOHN CARTER because it had crappy trailers. On the other major thing that PROMETHEUS has going for it (in my opinion) is Ridley Scott.  He's returning to the genre that he redefined not once, but twice.

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

"He's returning to the genre that he redefined not once, but twice." Let's hope he'll do it once more. I'm so excited!

Isildur_of_Numenor on Mar 17, 2012

Looks brilliant, and space jockey at 1.01.

tir na nog on Mar 17, 2012

There's a whole lot going on there. Some sort of weird disease or something with the people changing? I'm down like a clown for this, can't actually wait. Something I haven't said for a very long time.

Crapola on Mar 17, 2012

I dunno WHAT the hell is happening to those folks, Crapola...but, Christ, man, I'm damned itching to see this film!

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

The Avengers. Snow White & The Huntsman. Prometheus. Brave. The Amazing Spider-Man. The Dark Knight Rises. The Bourne Legacy... we're looking at another AMAZING summer! Bring me Prometheus already! Midnight showing!

Oatska on Mar 17, 2012

Holy Shit indeed!¬† But why do I get the feeling that Fox is going to ruin the movie before release by releasing 111 new tv spots and trailers and behind the scenes, same they did with Avatar. I know I know, one can just Not watch it but that kind of reasoning is not accepted in the internet age. If a studio releases something they want us to watch, right? So I ask Fox and Ridley Scott if he can influence them, don¬īt release too much. What¬īs the point of all secrecy so far if we get every major plot point and cool looking set piece spoiled before the movie is released.¬† Again I have to bring up Avatar. I followed that movie for years, nothing leaked, no concept art no cool set pic, nothing until six months before the premiere and there was like 30 minutes worth of footage from the movie and everything from the best parts. They even released the thanator chase sequence, or it was leaked somehow. When I finnaly saw that scene in 3d it was still spectacular but not as cool as it would have been had I not seen it first.¬† Prometheus seems to be a movie the less you see from it the more you will enjoy. Look at how Warners have handled the dark knight rises. Sure there is a ton of built in expectations already and a movie like the dark knight doesn¬īt even need three trailers, but what we have so far is enough to wet anyones apetite for the whole film.¬†

RipleyLives on Mar 17, 2012

The audio was weak. A trailer needs great audio and I heard none. Music weak, sound effects weak.

Michael P. Shipley on Mar 17, 2012

Maybe see it in the theaters, then--the trailer, I mean.  I finally saw the first one in the trailer when I saw JOHN CARTER...and lemme tell you, the sound and music were off the freakin' chain.  Even though I had seen the first trailer before on the 'Net and on TV....seeing it in the theater REALLY scared the hell out of me.

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

jeees this actually looks like its scary as fuck! some messed up images in there ūüôā

prometheus uk on Mar 17, 2012

Ridley is in his 70s. Before we lose him, can he please give the recipe on how to make a scifi/horror to anyone that is willing to listen.

Dale on Mar 17, 2012

I just jizzed awesome sauce all over my girlfriend.

Jezebel on Mar 17, 2012

Looks ok so far , don't know why every1 is having a nerdgasm though lol

Horseflesh on Mar 17, 2012

I should have been warned to empty my bowels before watching this trailer. I shit myself out of excitement. Ridley and Sci-fi are and sex.

Quanah on Mar 17, 2012

Sorry about your underwear, then....8-) Good thing I went to the bathroom BEFORE watching this....;D

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

Yes. Recommend before any Ridley Scott Sci-Fi revival: bathroom.

Quanah on Mar 17, 2012

Got to believe RS will insist on keeping some surprises up his gifted sleeve. In Ridley we trust.

i woke up PRAYING that there was going to be the new trailer today. and all i can say is this is one hell of a way to start a hangover

DoomCanoe on Mar 17, 2012

wait a minute, is this a prequel to Alien?

Davidbryan949 on Mar 17, 2012

sort of....think that the Alien is a bio-weapon and now apply the rule that every weapon has a prototype......

Jericho on Mar 17, 2012

Finally we get to see Noomi do the kind of stuff we wished for in the Dragon series. I get the idea her character will be going over the top with some kick ass moves.  Did you see that axe thing she had?

Megaflywire on Mar 17, 2012

What a great way to spend the day recovering from a car wreck! I think I shattered a few more ribs fist pumping...ouch.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

You alright mister?

Crapola on Mar 17, 2012

Well considering that I broke my ankle, broke ribs 4-7, bruised my lungs, cut my face up, nearly killed my girlfriend and totalled my truck...surprisingly yes I am.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

you could have encountered an ancient alien that contains thousands of bio-weapon type terrors inside.....glad your ok

Jericho on Mar 17, 2012

Good point...that would be awesome though. Appreciate that man. Just glad she made it. I absorbed her impact and stopped her from being injured.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

god speed recovery good man! glad you and your gal are safe.

lando on Mar 17, 2012

@lando Truly a gentleman.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

I'm glad you made it out, sounds scary. Car crashes aren't fun. ūüôĀ I illustrated that with sad face. No disco dancing for you for a little while, but I hope the recovery goes smooth, sorry about the truck, that sucks, but at least it hasn't deterred you from the important things in life, joining the rest of the film nerds on here, he he. Prometheus is a big draw I'll say that.

Crapola on Mar 17, 2012

Cheers. Had to get on FS the moment I was able to and seeing a Prometheus trailer made my day.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

an echo to all that's been said previously. v. glad to hear you're still out here on the interwebs with us, and that everyone got out. get well soon. {:-) ... as for the trailer, personally i'm adrenalised in a way that's quite rare these days from such things.

son_et_lumiere on Mar 20, 2012

Well, you've definitely got someone watching over you. All the best for a solid recovery, mate.

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

definitely do, my side is now the passenger side. Got some help for sure. Moved the steel pole 3 inches, made a statement!

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

Yep, I'm godly to all you ants! Nah, just posting and rambling.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

You didn't have to read it. You didn't have to respond. You didn't have to do anything...yet you did, why?

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

 Was it a good drunk?

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

well as long as you were happy while drunk then that's all that matters.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

Jesus, Xerxexx!  Hope the recovery's going okay...

Scopedog on Mar 17, 2012

I am in pain, can feel my ribs grinding against one another and it is not pleasant. I'm on the mend and will be back to myself in a couple of months.

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

Hope you’re feeling better. Best wishes!

Isildur_of_Numenor on Mar 17, 2012

Good man!

Xerxexx on Mar 17, 2012

Totally got a screenshot of the alien (spacejockey) in this, it looks like a humanoid elephant/anteater. Not very intimidating.

The_Kid89 on Mar 17, 2012

So epic.

that trailer made me feel uncomfortable... in a good way

Matlyles on Mar 17, 2012

Buzzfunk on Mar 17, 2012

Ive avoided looking at any of the early pics, avoided learning plot etc...I wanted this to be an old school experience of walking in and not knowing a thing... by now I have a general idea of what the story MIGHT be but DAMNNNNNNN I'm so hyped up now just by seeing how this LOOKS! at this point even if the story disappoints (most signs point otherwise) Im looking forward to immersion in that world, and keeping my fingers crossed that Mr. Scott will be returning in form and then some..

lando on Mar 17, 2012

beyond awesome, we need to find a new definition for this one. i just hope it'll be less horror than the trailer makes it look like. i wanna watch it with my grlfrnd

O'Ryan on Mar 17, 2012

Less horror? Ridley has said that this will be scifi/horror. Just like Alien was. Please dont tell me that you thought Alien was not horror? It sure was.

Buzzfunk on Mar 17, 2012

there's too much being shown in this trailer. Can't we leave SOME surprises for when we watch it? That said, my nipples are bleeding from excitement... should go see a doctor about this (or a psychiatrist?)

syntaxterror on Mar 17, 2012

Wow... Ridley Scott in his element, showing how it is supposed to be done. That Prometheus landing sequence for more is the coolest thing about the trailer - the rest is just a bonus.

HyperJ on Mar 17, 2012

I liked it better the first time I saw it.....when it was called Alien.....yeah I said it.....cause it's true!

Chris on Mar 17, 2012

Yeah I was waiting for the first Troll to ruin the party. Your loss. Do me a favor, pop in the Alien BR and stay home then!

Buzzfunk on Mar 18, 2012

so where is the 2min+ trailer? i'm impatient.

Zac on Mar 17, 2012

Screw Dark Knight Rises I want to see this now!!!!! In Ridley we trust... I can't believe I said that, haha.

BinaryChaos on Mar 17, 2012

Dude thats not even a thing to question. No disrespect to Nolan, hes talented but he ain't no Sir R. Scott. That is for sure.

Buzzfunk on Mar 18, 2012

Well whats wrong with the Dark knight rises? I mean both movie are great works of great men.. Definitely will watch both... There's no reason that anyone would be wasting money watching both.

Yonkejosh on Mar 29, 2012

That trailer just hugged my face so hard it exploded.

Django9000 on Apr 8, 2012

Russell Crowe as the face hugger is just awesome.
