Over two years ago it looked liked once great comedy actor Jim Carrey would get raunchy again with Pierre Pierre, a new film with Borat, Bruno and The Dictator director Larry Charles at the helm. However, the actor has since fallen away from the project which follows an obnoxious French nihilist who transports a stolen painting from Paris to London. Along the way he crosses paths with a French police inspector, a serial killer named Pigeonshit and his own brothel-owning mother. So who's the man taking on this role now? Variety says It'll be Get Him to the Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Russell Brand. Read on!
The script, from first-time writers Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton, was on the Black List four years ago when Fox Atomic picked up the script for $1 million, and it even caught the eye of Jason Reitman for a short time before it went into turn around. Since then the project has remained stagnant, but with Brand on board, returning to the big screen after a short and ongoing stint on TV this summer with "Brand X" on FX, it sounds like the project might finally get off the ground. Frankly, I would've like to see Carrey take on a role like this, but Brand can probably pull it off with Charles at the helm.

They got the obnoxious part right. No one will pay to see that fool in a movie anymore.
