"Guys - I'm bringing the party to you." Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer in HD via Apple for Joss Whedon's The Avengers, the ensemble superhero action-packed crazy summer extravaganza that is going to blow the roof off movie theaters everywhere when it hits on May 4th, only 65 more days. We've seen one trailer before, and that big game spot, but this trailer has everything they could pack into it, tons of Iron Man and Cap and Loki, plus Hulk smashing his way through buildings, and much more. This is finally starting to look as epic and awesome as we've been hoping, glad to see it, can't wait for the summer!

Really liked the down to earth soldier shooting at the alien invasion moment at the start. Might be a tiny bit gritty which would be a nice change from the transformer style alien invasions. Looks epic.

They can hold back all they like! After that trailer I don't want to see anymore & it still keeps everyone in the dark as to what the main villians plans are & doesn't give away much. I'm ready to go sit down now at the theaters to figure out the rest of the puzzle, not on my couch on my computer lol.

yep and Hawkeye is going to save it with a bow and arrow. I love how many people are pointing out that she's holding a regular lil' hand gun but there's a guy on the team with a bow and arrow apparently fighting giant machines.

Arrows only have explosive tips large enough to damage or immobilise a military vehicle such as a tank or Bradley. Explosive tips can break the tracks off of a D7R Cat BullDozer with what I have witnessed. There are explosive rounds for guns but they are too big and heavy to carry around. The only thing big enough to carry around with explosive tips is a Barret 50 cal. and I wouldnt want to run around with that if my life depended on it. Alot of snipers would prefer a lighter rifle to carry on long long missions. A barret is made for super long range targets and are used close to where the sniper would dismount from the vehicle they are riding in and they only end up marching a small distance before setting up their op nest. Sorry I got into detail there but arrows with explosive tips will work alot better if you are carrying something.

I'm sure he will have his fair share of screen time in the actual film. Why would they let the most unknown one have a big part in the trailer? Not as good for marketing as using Iron Man, Thor & Captain for the big trailers. Renner will shine in the film though I guarantee. He is a great actor & award winner like you said.

That actually makes sense. Iron Man is really the selling point of this movie. I read on box officemojo.com that Disney combatted the unfamiliarity of the other characters by selling the movie as "Iron Man and Friends", which sounds cheesy at first glance but in a way this is Iron Man 3 with a few extra buddies thrown in and that's not a bad thing.

Actually, it is a VERY bad thing. Iron Man had two movies already: one of them was decent and the other one sucked. Let the other heroes shine too, not everyone cares (or even likes, for that matter) Robert Downey Jr/Tony Stark. Marvel needs to quit shoving Iron Man in our faces! By the way, Captain America *IS* the leader of the Avengers, after all.

Understand though, Captain America is going to start this movie as a reluctant hero, and his leadership probably won't start to emerge until at least the end of the movie.

Hawkeye has no super power. He's just an accomplished marksman. Just as Black Widow is trained in advanced combat and stealth. Even Cap is really only a man brought to the height of human potential. Don't knock the "lesser" heroes, they get the job done.

LOL dude you clearly don't know your super heroes. You're getting your archers mixed up. Hawkeye doesn't do the gimmicky arrow thing. That's Green Arrow and that's DC comics. Like Artzy said... he's just a marksman. He's probably the worst off out of all of them.

Don't get me wrong, though... I still love Hawkeye and all the other "powerless" heroes. Realistically, they have more balls than anyone who can fly or shoot lasers from their eyes because they don't have special abilities to fall back on. However, that also doesn't mean I don't like seeing Thor or Hulk tear it up on the street. I think there's a place for all of them on the team; they compliment each other.

This trailer sold the 'Multiple superheroes teaming together' angle a bit better than the previous promos. I'm stoked. Being the first film of the summer movie season, effectively a sequel to FOUR different films, AND being released in all of the various forms of 3D...I have to assume this has a solid shot at breaking some opening box office records.

I'm totally with you on the note 'thing.' I dont wanna split hairs with it either, but what immediately came to mind when I heard the trailer score was 'Dream is Collapsing' & 'Agressive Expansion' by Zimmer. Seems like that sort of style to expand the scope of the movie is catching on. I guess If I were to split hairs I'd point to this trailer sounding more like Transformers 3 (with a different note of course!) 😉

The trailer looks good but you have to 'marvel' at the pressure that Whedon is under. Satisfying the devoted fans who'll be happy if hulk is wearing the right trousers, yet also appealing to those who relish the chance to see something that might be lifted above the 'movie by numbers' that a lot of superhero films adopt. It's gonna be a tough one, and as much as I have faith in the man, I'm not sure if it's an unwinable war.

The difference is that Nolan doesnt have to show the best parts of the Dark Knight Rises to get people to come see it... Too much footage has always been my biggest complaint when it comes to trailers.

Looks good although I'm starting to feel that this is going to be just another big blockbuster action movie than an epic, cause all I've notice is that one huge " i think its final" battle scene repeated all over again and again in all the avenger trailers.. The movie is just gonna be getting all the members together, slight hustle and tussle here and there, and then fight off a major battle in the climax of the movie... That's how all regular action movies are made... So all audience are gonna really get their adrenaline pumped up and excited just for that last battle scene.. if u haven't notice, most of the clips shown in the trailer tracks to just one major battle scene and that's what was used to make avenger trailers because most probably that's the only part that's gonna excite everyone than other scene in the movie *marketing strategy i presume*

No offense but you JUST realized it's a big summer blockbuster? I kinda realized that when the movie was announced last year. I have this friend who every time a super hero movie comes out he ask me if it can match The Dark Knight. The difference between TDK and every other super hero movie is TDK was never attended as an "ok it's summer let's put out a superhero movie" like Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Green Lantern, and so many others are. TDK was one man having an idea and wanting to tell the story of Batman that he envisioned. It just so happened that that man Christopher Nolan is a FUCKING GENIUS and the movie was incredible. But Avengers is exactly as you said "just another summer blockbuster". Couple of explosions, A little bit of conflict, Cool CGI, Kiss the girl at the end, and lets all go home.

check it out again, I said that I'm starting to feel that its just gonna be another big summer blockbuster action movie rather than something that makes a mark or a standout for the year, which means how The Dark Knight made its definite mark for the year 2008, it was remembered and talked about for years till the next big thing showed up.... I didn't just realized, i know every year for the next 100 years there's gonna be always one or a couple of high profile big summer blockbuster showing up in a year. No offense but you realized it was a big summer blockbuster when it was announced last year, but i'm realizing it every year and definitely gonna realize "its a big summer blockbuster" for the next 100 years. And one more thing, i never compare a movie with the others out there, only of which will excel overall..... For you info, The Dark Knight legend is in a class of its own... Its ridiculous to compare each hero with the others because every hero's are in a class of their own.. The only comparison will be who will do the best in the end, of cause for the year...

I hope in some way Marvel can work some sort of a deal, so they can get Wolverine and Spiderman in any Avengers sequels, but then you have a bit of a continuity problem. But hey they rebooted Spiderman, so maybe something can be worked out.

Yep, Thor finally kills the creature, his body is pulped, suffering from the Curse of Hela, his bones become as brittle as glass but he is unable to heal or die. Thor "resurrects" himself by taking mental control of the Destroyer and forcing Hela to recreate his body and free him from her curse.

I think there's a danger sometimes that because they stumble for decent bad guys that having a 'generic bad guy robot' like they did in Iron Man 2 (and many others) makes the battles feel somewhat empty. Joss is great at adding a feeling of peril in a battle (killing Wash just before the final fight in Serenity made you genuinely feel that he could have killed them all off) but it's unlikely that flying robot 3457 will be the one that takes out one of the good guys. Oh, I'm just not sure. The action looks great but is it going to engage me like it did in District 9?

Is it me or is there anyone out there didn't realize that there are Two more members of the Avenger's unit has gone missing?... The Giant and The Wasp, according to the Marvel 2 part animation of the Avengers that came out like two years ago if I'm not mistaken. And both looks like almost the same.. just a little extras here and there " Loki add on" that's for sure.
