Last November, we heard about the first provocative project for Disney starlet Selena Gomez following in the footsteps of Vanessa Hudgens as the two ladies keep working to shed their sweet Mickey Mouse image in Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers the story of four college girls who rob a restaurant to afford their trip to the beach until a drug and arms dealer (James Franco) wants them to do some dirty work. Now we have a first look at the bikini clad actresses with their co-stars Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine (the director's partner), and Franco looking like a gun-wielding Kevin Federline, cornrows and all. In Spring Breakers, Brit (Ashley Benson), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Cotty (Rachel Korine), and Faith (Selena Gomez) have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun. A serendipitous encounter with rapper "Alien" promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. Harmony Korine (of low key indie films like Trash Humpers and Mister Lonely) writes and directs this film which promises to be his most high profile project yet. The film doesn't have a distributor yet so stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Interested?

Actually, their all older then I even thought. Selena is youngest at 19 others are 22-24.

I honestly don't think this movie looks any good. but I live in Tampa Bay and some of my friends will be extras in it so yay for them! 🙂 ahaha i love the last one because it looks like Selena Gomez is taking a casual piss on the police cruiser.Â

This looks like another more "mainstream" film for Korine, like 'Mr. Lonely' which was the only film in his catalogue that didn't feel like a HK film. I hope this surprises me, though I doubt it will beat Julien Donkey-Boy..

Does anyone else think, given the plot summary of them robbing someplace, that the picture with the girls getting arrested is revealing a tad too much? Also, I had high hopes for Sucker Punch for Hudgens (for SOME reason), and if Gomez is following her footsteps, this will be a disappointment as well...
