'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' Hits the Big Screen October 2013 in 3D

Sin City

We've already heard that the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is officially in development and moving towards production. Most of the original cast is said to be returning with some unknown new cast members, and now a press release reveals the film will hit theaters on October 4th, 2013. Plot details are being kept under tight wraps at the moment, but the second volume of the graphic novel follows Dwight (Clive Owen) stuck with only a seedy gumshoe job and some demons, thinking of all the ways he's screwed up and looking for one chance to wipe the slate clean and dig his way out of the gray hell that is his life.

The press release also confirms that Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba will reprise their roles from the original 2005 film, but this time they and the striking visuals from the graphic novel will come to audiences in 3D. Rodriguez said he had spoken to Rourke already, but apparently the interested Rosario Dawson isn't confirmed yet. Either way, this kind of progress is absolutely exciting. While the script is being kept secret for now, and we don't know that the content in the graphic novel itself will be all that's on display in the fall of 2013, but the remaining cast will be announced shortly with some huge names expected to fill the roles of Sin Ciy’s newest characters who have not yet been brought to life on the big screen. Stay tuned.

Do you think they'll post convert it or shoot it in 3d? Cuz none of their movies has ever been in 3d

to bad Dawson will never be able to fit into her old costume. i doubt she returns because of that.

Why? Has she gotten fat or something? Or really skinny?

Chris_G on May 17, 2012

Of course, why would it NOT be in 3d.

LosZombies on May 17, 2012

I fucking hate the 3D gimmick. But like remakes, it just won't go away.

honestly this shit was mad boring for me an my girl , i mean i couldn't even get blown that night cause it was such a waste. a bunch of cool cameo's but no dice 🙁

Wiki page for 'A Dam To Kill For' Interesting, they had 3 of the graphic novels in the first film, and the 'A Dame To Kill For' graphic novel is the same length as the 'Hard Goodbye' graphic novel...which was Mickey Rourke's section in the first film. There are also two shorts about Marv(Mickey Rourke) that could potentially be included in this film. One of the shorts 'Blue Eyes' also occurs during the 'A Dame to Kill For' storyline. They'll also have to recast Brittany Murphy 🙁

I thought Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis were way more badass than Clive Owen he that movie, his acting felt "forced". I'm glad Rourke's back.

PatrickV on May 17, 2012

SPOLIER ALERT!!! But, if I remember correct, wasn't Dwight's face reconstructed after (or at the tail end of) in A Dame To Kill For? So wouldn't Owen have a cameo or appear briefly in other stories?

Akirakorn on May 17, 2012

I figured they'd just put some prosthetics on his face like Rourke and Del Toro.
