Sizzle Reel of What Joe Carnahan's 'Gemini Man' Could Have Been

A few years ago, L.A. Confidential director Curtis Hanson was slated to direct Gemini Man for Disney and their Touchstone Pictures banner. The film would have followed a brilliant, aging assassin trying to leave the game whose employers dispatch a clone of his younger self to take him out (yeah, we know, it sounds a bit like Looper). It was originally pitched back in 1997 and had been passed around for over 10 years to various writers, but has since been left dead in the water. But at one point Joe Carnahan apparently delivered his own pitch for the film with another sizzle reel, similar to the one he crafted for Daredevil.
Here's Joe Carnahan's pitch video for Gemini Man which he posted on Twitter (via ComingSoon):
It's interesting to think of Clint Eastwood in a sci-fi film like this, and it almost makes me wish Carnahan was able to make his version of the film. Carnahan also said that at one point tests were being done with actor Jon Voight "to see if they could duplicate a younger CG-based version." That difficulty may have been a factor in the film never getting off the ground. But of course, we know that Disney succeeded in this technological feat as they used CG to craft a younger Jeff Bridges for Tron Legacy. I hope pitch videos like this keep finding their way online as they make for some interesting film food for though. Pretty cool?

Film studios should invent a time machine so they can go back in time and get younger actors to play themselves, think of how much money they will save.
