Men in Black 3

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? They are back… in time. Its been a good 10 years since we last saw Agent J & K, but they're both back in another sci-fi adventure involving the secret organization that polices alien activity on Earth - the Men in Black. Sony Pictures is opening MIB3 in theaters today, with Will Smith back as Agent J, Tommy Lee Jones as K, and introducing Josh Brolin as a young K, plus Jemaine Clement as the villain Boris. So how is this one? Better than the first, the second, or worse overall? If you've seen it, leave a comment below with your thoughts on Barry Sonnenfeld's Men in Black 3.

Note: I have not been able to see Men in Black 3 yet, so instead, here's some starting thoughts on the movie from our own Ethan Anderton:

Men in Black 3 far exceeded my expectations for a sequel in a franchise that hasn't had a neew installment since the dreadful Men in Black II ten years ago. It brings more of the same with the chemistry between Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, but it's Josh Brolin as a young Agent K in 1969 that really livens things up, not to mention a fun villain in Jemaine Clement, and great supporting bits from Michael Stuhlbarg, Bill Hader, and one hilarious surprise cameo by a certain "Arrested Development" cast member (we won't spoil who). There are some subtle references to the first two films, but this one also stands on its own with new aliens, weapons and of course, time travel. Finally, a well-earned emotional ending that changes how you look at the franchise characters forever is a cherry on a funny, sci-fi action cake. I missed having Will Smith on the big screen and it's good to have him back.

What did you think of the new Men in Black 3? An awesomely fun sequel, or crash 'n burn? We will remove any comments that indicate you have not seen the movie, as this area is meant to discuss the film only once you have seen it and can talk about your thoughts. Please keep the comments civilized!

it was about as good as the second movie...and i liked the first one more.... it also really doesn't do anything drastic to shock the audience other than the particular reason to save him, i would think maybe we could get a detailed story about why and how he joined but no we just get the same formula as MIB2 with a different style to the scenery....

Not as good as the first but better than the second so it's the middle child in the family

It wasn't bad... I kind of liked it, but I dunno... I felt it lacking something...

The film had a great, funny start in the beginning, in the middle it gave a couple laughs, but in the end it had an epic Nasa sequence and emotional ending. I give MEN IN BLACK 3 a B+.

I thought it was a good entertaining movie. I thought the new cast members saved it. Josh Brolin does an amazing Tommy Lee Jones. Micheal Stuhlbarg as Griffin was the best addition and he saved the movie for me.

Meh.... s'ok.  Didn't suck like Battleship, didn't rock like Avengers.  Hey!  That Jemaine Clement (Boris... the animal - lulz!) came off as kind of a bad ass though!  Most of it was probably the sound design on his vocals - but he was all kinds of mesmerizing.  That character was well done. Probably as good as the 2nd one.  Without the super-hot villain.  Ok... gonna do a little venting here now, because it's the internet, & because I know Alex & others will identify in a way "outsiders" wouldn't... Gawdamn baby in the row DIRECTLY BEHIND ME... AGAIN (wasn't directly behind me in Battleship, but awfully close).  Jackass had to leave the theatre 4 times due to baby noise.  There were no catcalls towards him, so he was slightly thoughtful in that aspect... but WTF is wrong with these parents (other than a complete lack of respect for others movie viewing)?!  It's not your gawdamn living room!!?  F*** cell phones... NO BABIES IN MOVIE THEATRES!!!  (except G rated flicks for obvious reasons) (& no I don't have kids & yes, I'm probably an ass**** for thinking like this.) tldr - please don't bring your baby to non-G rated flicks.

What happened to the scene from Men in Black 3 that was on the teaser trailer for Men in black 3? I'm referring to the scene were Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith's characters K and J are talking to an Alien that's pained on a wall of a building. Does anyone here think it'll be on the Deleted scenes section of MEn in Black 3's Blu-ray release?

All I can say is I'm going to watch it again cuz Josh Brolin's younger Agent K is such fun! ^^ They should just reboot the franchise with Josh in the lead!

It wasn't as fun as I thought it would be but it still had its moments.  I really enjoyed the probability guy (can't remember his name).  Surprisingly it was more about K and J's relationship; bitter with regret for not watching the first 2 again.  I agree with @twitter-381251339:disqus it was lacking something...

The script is pretty messy and feels like an early draft. Despite many obviously clunky scenes, the movie is still quite enjoyable. Josh Brolin is great fun and the ending, which ties nicely into the first film, almost redeems the movie's patchiness. Great practical fx are mixed with solid CG work, but there is a lack of really memorable sequences and set pieces. Greater involvement with Alice Eve's younger O would have been nice. Young O didn't seem relevant or purposeful and then just disappeared. Saw it in 2D. I'd give it 6/10.

It was fun.  The trailers showed a bit much (IMO), but it had some good reveals and Brolin was great.  I wish this would have been the 2nd one.

It was absolutely boring! Left within the first 30 minutes of the film....
