Wreck-It Ralph

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? The story of a regular guy just looking for a little wreck-ognition. In theaters now is Disney Animations' latest original story, Wreck-It Ralph, starring the voice of John C. Reilly as Wreck-It Ralph, a bad guy in a classic arcade game (called Fix-It Felix, Jr.) who doesn't want to be a bad guy any more. Along the way he meets Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) and Calhoun (Jane Lynch), plus many other classic video game characters. So how is the film? As good as the trailers? Best animated movie this year? Once you've seen it, post a comment with your thoughts on Wreck-It Ralph.

Note: I haven't personally had the chance to see Wreck-It Ralph yet, as I've been busy trying to move across the country and couldn't make the one and only screening I was invited to. However, our own writer Ben Pearson saw it and mentioned this review in his interview with director Rich Moore: "Through a perfect synthesis of story, voice casting, and wonderful animation, Wreck-It Ralph is a fantastic look inside the world of video games that is an absolute must-see for movie fans who grew up as gamers. Even if you can't tell Zangief from a zombie, it's still a hilarious comedy with lots of action, drama and heart." So?

What did you think of Disney's Wreck-It Ralph? An instant animation classic, or forgettable? We will remove any comments that indicate you have not seen the movie, as this area is meant to discuss the film only once you have seen it and can talk about your thoughts. Please keep the comments civilized!

I thought it was a great movie, and the nods to the hardcore gamers where a nice touch. Recommend.

I loved it! Had a smile on my face the entire time...well except when Ralph...wrecked something important. Great movie...Reily was great and Silverman surprised. The short film "Paperman" was lovely.

I thought it was genius. Fun for the whole family (especially for gaming adults). This movie makes me think a Ready Player One movie is possible.

I saw it w/ my 10 y/o son. We both enjoyed it, although I think I got a greater kick out of it, since I could identify several of the Central Station characters. But he got the gist of the lesson it was teaching, and I didn't want to fall asleep. Overall, I'd give it a B+.
