Prometheus Subway

Why does Europe get all the best marketing stunts?! We're going a bit Prometheus crazy here, considering we're counting down the days (22 left!) in the three weeks left until it arrives in theaters. The final pieces of marketing are coming together, and one huge stunt in Europe, specifically Paris, includes an abandoned subway station being completely decked out with that giant head and blue lights for riders to see. And it's incredible. There's even a video of the subway ride through the station, it's amazing, this is brilliant. Shots have hit the web on the Weyland Investors Tumblr (via MovieViral) and they're definitely must see photos.

Here's a video from Half-A-Million Screenshots of the subway riding through the station, it looks awesome.

This amazing Prometheus display is on Paris' Metro line 9 at the Saint-Martin station (as you can see labeled above), which has been closed since 1939. My excitement for this movie is growing to unbelievable levels each and every day, fueled by continually brilliant modern marketing like this. Whoever is responsible for coming up with this stunt (Half-A-Million Screenshots?), plus their online viral marketing campaign, deserves quite a bit of acclaim, as all of this has been astonishing. And seeing final all-out marketing stunts like this is the cherry on top. Prometheus lands in theaters starting June 8th and I cannot wait for it arrive.

At the end there is there something moving around under the skin of the girl on her back?

Crapola on May 17, 2012

It looks to me like there is something moving on the back of the girl. Or it could also be her T-shirt's shadows.

most probably her partner's hand 😉  a well-planned bit of self-marketing from half-a-million-screenshots, although the first half of the film was probably the only relevant part! A great way to use a disused metro station 🙂

Yeah, here in Europe we're never at all jealous of the constant stream of stuff only Americans get access to, because we get ALL the best marketing stunts.

Richard Nelson on May 18, 2012

Im glad its in Europe. American subway systems are trashy and disrespectful to say the least. If this was in NYC it'd be crawling with bed bugs, graffito-tagged and probably draped with used condoms in a matter of minutes.

The Saint Martin station "as you can see labeled above"? Nope, it doesn't exist 🙂 it's between "Strasbourg Saint Denis" and "République" (as you can see labeled above indeed)
