'Star Trek Into Darkness' Teaser is NOT Being Unveiled on Facebook

It's time to empower the fans! Paramount has just launched a Facebook page to start promoting Star Trek Into Darkness, the J.J. Abrams-directed sequel to his reboot of the Star Trek series. A few weeks ago, J.J. went on Conan O'Brien and teased a 3-frame (not 3-second, just 3 frames) clip which simultaneously angered and excited fans, but now they're letting fans finish things off and eventually unveil the new trailer. An unofficial Facebook page has launched for Into Darkness, and a photo posted (see below) teases the first trailer, with a message that it will be revealed in full once the page reaches 500,000 likes. But is this real?
Update 2: Paramount Pictures has indeed confirmed that this is a fake Facebook page. As you were.
Update: Some are saying this might be a completely fake setup. I received the info via a press release in my email unlike anything I'd seen before. Unless fans spoofed a press release from Paramount on their own to show that they can control marketing, which seems to be the case, I'm not sure what else is going on. We'll keep you updated, but tread carefully. It does seem to be a fake creation, but it also goes to show how fans can rile up and do more to create buzz than the studio. We'll keep you updated. Original post follows:
From the fake Facebook page with this message: "An exclusive trailer from Star Trek Into Darkness will be posted when we reach 500,000 likes! Share this to your friends! The fate of our page rests in your hands. Live long and prosper." All it will take is 500K likes and we'll get the first real teaser for Star Trek 2! The entire USS Enterprise is back, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and John Cho, plus newcomers Alice Eve and Benedict Cumberbatch. Paramount has Star Trek Into Darkness set to arrive in theaters on May 17th, 2013 next summer, in IMAX and 3D. Stay tuned!

I don't want to see a full trailer. The Conan teaser already gave away too much of the plot!

Brilliant marketing strategy. I'm curious, there is tangible proof of a press release from Paramount Pictures of this being an authentic page, but no real proof of it being a fake or fraud. I believe the only proof that supports this is a fake page is a tweet from an unverified Twitter account. I still remain that this is a true, legitimate page from Paramount.

Damn scammers. Page unliked. They are banning anyone who posts the truth about them. No big surprise there then...

Yes, I just checked. It's gone. But the hoaxsters don't care, they got their jollies.

The first JJ Trek was terrible. This will be more of the same. Yes, I'm a hater of this movie.

It wasn't. Not when films like The Phantom Menace exist.
