Stellan Skarsgard Ready for Some More Superhero Science in 'Thor 2'
Hot on the heels of Iron Man 3, which is already in production, the sequel to Thor is gearing up for production later this year. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba have all been confirmed to reprise their roles from the first film, and now another character is returning as well. Hey U Guys learned Stellan Skarsgard will reprise his role as Dr. Erik Selvig, who spent most of his screentime in The Avengers hypnotized by Loki. However, at this point it's not clear how he'll be involved in the sequel, as we don't even know what Thor and the people of Asgard will have to deal with following The Avengers.
But what we do know, is that Casino Royale villain Mads Mikkelsen will play the bad guy this time around, but it's unknown what comic villain will be used. Meanwhile, it's been said that one cast member from Thor will not be returning with "Chuck" star Zachary Levi said to be in talks to play Fandral, one of the Warrior's Three, instead of Josh Dallas. "Game of Thrones" helmer Alan Taylor will direct the film with a script from the original film's writer Don Payne and Saving Private Ryan scribe Robert Rodat. Production begins sometime this summer, so hopefully we'll have more details soon.

I was hoping Kenneth Branaugh would return to direct, or at least have some input as a producer, but I am happy with Taylor.
