Supermodel Bar Paly and Tony Shalhoub Joining Bay's 'Pain & Gain'

Since the next movie from Michael Bay is a small budget film called Pain & Gain that apparently has minimal action (supposedly only one explosion), how would audiences ever know they were watching a film from the director of Armageddon and the entire Transformers franchise? Cast a hot supermodel. That's exactly what Bay has done as Variety reports that Bar Paly, an Israeli supermodel with a little acting experience is in final negotiations to join Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Mackie in the story of a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida.
Paly will play Sabina Petrescu, an illegal immigrant and former beauty queen who dreams of becoming the next Marilyn Monroe. Wahlberg's character promises to make her a star, and she in turn agrees to do whatever he asks in the service of her new country. She's not new to acting as she's already appeared in "The Starter Wife" and The Ruins, and also has a role opposite Charlie Sheen in A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, so it won't be like watching the Rosie Huntington-Whitely-bot try to act.
Anyway, "Monk" star Tony Shalhoub has also landed a role in Pain & Gain as Marc Schiller, the target of the kidnapping scheme. He joins a cast that also includes Ed Harris and Rob Corddry in the film that Bay was likely only allowed to make just so that he would agree to making another Transformers film, which he indeed has done already. I'm interested in seeing what Bay does with a smaller budget, especially with this cast, but I'm not sure I need him bringing supermodels into movies all the time.
