TGB Episode 102: The Reign of Harryhausen (Guest: Brian Salisbury)
by Tim Buel
March 29, 2012
On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim & Jeremy are joined by Brian Salisbury, of Spill, Movies.com and Film School Rejects, to go through their latest Picks of the Week, the newest DVD/Blu-Ray releases, talk about trailers for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, Hotel Transylvania and French thriller Sleepless Night, and more. The main topic of the night was a discussion on the career and legacy of effects legend Ray Harryhausen, in honor of Wrath of the Titans hitting theaters this weekend. The guys discuss some of their favorite Ray Harryhausen monsters, his impact on modern creature effects and plenty more.
The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Wednesday nights starting ~7:30PM PST. You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

I'm with you guys on A Dangerous Method. As much as psychoanalysis interests me I think in this case it was put above the story and was self-serving. It was almost like a lecture on the different theories instead of a good film about these incredible people that revolutionized the way we see things. Anyways I can't wait for Cosmopolis - It looks amazing! I really liked this guest by the way, seems like a really cool dude 🙂 And the jokes about black pegasus were some of the funniest you've had since joking about Jeremy being a racist 😀

Clocker, Davide, Thank you so much for your kind words. Tim and Jeremy are both friends of mine so I find it very easy to chat and joke with them. Hope to be on again soon. Cheers.
