June 28, 2012

The Golden Briefcase - TED

On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim & Jeremy are joined by guest Matt Patches of and Operation Kino to chat about their latest Picks of the Week, the newest DVD & Blu-Ray releases, new trailers for for Pete Travis' Dredd and Olivier Megaton's sequel Taken 2 and much more. The main topic of the night was focused on the genre of black/dark comedies, in honor of Seth MacFarlane's Ted, Some Guy Who Kills People and Klown all available soon. The guys go over what exactly defines dark comedies and if people are sick and twisted for not knowing when to draw the line and not laugh. Listen in!

The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Wednesday nights starting ~7:30PM PST. You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

I might be a crazy person like Matt Patches but I find the darker the movie the funnier I find it,if it has a least a little bit of comedy in it...maybe it's a survival mechanism since life is pretty dark.We live in uncertainty hoping for the best ,we die like flies ..a big cosmic joke, what's not to laugh about. One would go really crazy otherwise. We human beings are absurd.Just take a look at any news site. It's a f**king comedy of epic proportions.

Also how come you didn't mention Four Lions by Christopher Morris?

You have touched on dark comedy before with your episode in honor of Horrible Bosses.. Loved the drunk commentary bit 🙂 I agree with the guy who said the dude bros should be back!

By the way, I wanted to recommend Pretty Persuasion with Evan Rachel Wood, a great dark comedy in my opinion 😀 Especially recommended if you like Heathers (Winona Ryder)!
