TGB Episode 119: Philip K. Dick at the Movies (Guest: James Rocchi)

August 2, 2012

The Golden Briefcase - Total Recall

On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim & Jeremy are joined by James Rocchi of MSN Movies to chat through their latest Picks of the Week, the newest DVD & Blu-Ray releases, new trailers for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D and the Wachowskis' & Tom Tykwer's Cloud Atlas and much more. The main topic of the night was a discussion on the film adaptations of famed science-fiction author Philip K. Dick, in honor of the latest Total Recall adaptation hitting theaters this weekend. The guys talk over some of the great films that have come from PKD's works and some of those that didn't quite live up to their originals.

The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Wednesday nights starting ~7:30PM PST. You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

I think you guys missed one movie/series in your whole list (would be nice to have those compiled somewhere), and that would be Ghost in the Shell: big corporations, consciousnesses being transported into robotics, artificial intelligences. Definitely seems like it is quite Dickian.
