GOLDEN BRIEFCASE
TGB Episode 123: Closing Summer's Chapter (Guest: Kate Erbland)
by Tim Buel
August 31, 2012
On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim & Jeremy are joined by Kate Erbland from Film School Rejects to chat about their latest Picks of the Week, the newest DVD & Blu-Ray releases, new trailers for Ben Wheatley's Sightseers and Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths (red band!) and much more. The main topic of the night was a retrospective on the movies from the summer of 2012, as we've finally reached the end of August. The gang go over some of the greatest triumphs, surprising downfalls and biggest surprises of this summer past and compare it to some summers that we've ranked as the most memorable.
The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Wednesday nights starting ~7:30PM PST. You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

I agree it definitely wasn't the best summer.. I would recommend Ceasar Must Die, it won the Berlin Film Festival, I found it to be a refreshing film. Other than that I loved Moonrise Kingdom and liked The Dark Knight Rises. The rest was very forgettable.

So the big summation for the summer movie season by the Golden Briefcase is "I didn't see it".

I hate the comment "oh, it's just a comic book movie". why can't you say oh it was a good movie and leave it at that
