The Croods

There's been two trailers for DreamWorks Animation's prehistoric animated family comedy adventure The Croods, and the imagery has been stunning, even if hearing a caveman voiced by Nicolas Cage is a little weird. Now a cool new motion poster has arrived that uses some familiar footage from those trailers, but then throws a curveball when a wild jungle cat jumps into frame and scares the whole family away. But then he notices everyone looking at him and gets the lens all steamy. This would be pretty cool to see on a screen in a movie theater, and I'm sure kids will dig it. Hopefully the film brings the goods next year. Poster below!

If you haven't already seen the full-length trailer for DWA's The Croods, you can still catch it online right here.

How To Train Your Dragon collaborators Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco are co-directing this prehistoric animated feature film, which was also developed with the help of Monty Python troupe member John Cleese. The film follows The Croods, an introverted family, who find themselves guided out of their cave into this dynamic world by a resourceful newcomer (Ryan Reynolds) who may bring more stress than relief to the patriarch (Nicolas Cage) of the family. Catherine Keener, Emma Stone, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman also voice characters in the DreamWorks Animation film slated to hit theaters in 3D on March 1st, 2013.
