More excellent casting news for a highly anticipated sci-fi movie coming up. Deadline reports that actor Nonso Anozie is the latest to join the cast of Gavin Hood's Ender's Game, the sci-fi adaptation based on Orson Scott Card's novel, which already has young Asa Butterfield set to star as Ender. Anozie is a British actor who's appeared in everything from Atonement to Happy-Go-Lucky to RocknRolla, as well as Brighton Rock and last year's Conan the Barbarian remake, but most may now recognize him as "Burke" from Joe Carnahan's outstanding The Grey. Read on to find out what role he'll be playing in the Ender's Game movie.
Nonso Anozie will be playing Sergeant Dap at the Battle School in the film, who takes care of Launchies in Ender's bunkroom. In addition to Anozie, Stevie Ray Dallimore (Joyful Noise) has been cast as Ender's father John and Andrea Powell (Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2) joins as Ender’s mother Theresa. The movie begins shooting this month down in New Orleans, and also stars Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin. Butterfield plays Ender, a brilliant young strategist drafted by the International Fleet to save the human race. I'm still excited for this and I think writer/director Gavin Hood has put together a fantastic cast for a sci-fi adaptation that sounds like it could be as good as the book.

I hope so... Probably my favorite book of all time... Asa Butterfield was great as Hugo Cabret, from one of my OTHER favorite films of the year.... So, I can hope!
