Ti West to Helm New Horror 'The Sacrament' for Producer Eli Roth
Horror director Ti West has been working on short segments in films like the terrifying V/H/S and the upcoming ABCs of Death (which debuts in Toronto soon) for a little while now, but we finally have some new info about another full-length horror project. The Playlist reports that West will direct The Sacrament, another horror thriller in line with his previous films House of the Devil and The Innkeepers. Worldview Entertainment, one of the companies backing the new movie, has also secured Hostel director Eli Roth as a producer, so it should be quite the meeting of the minds when The Sacrament gets rolling.
As The Playlist points out, West directed the 2009 movie Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, a sequel to Roth's breakout original, before West ultimately tried to remove his name from the film altogether (it's still attached at IMDB). This will be their first real collaboration since Roth didn't have anything to do with Cabin Fever 2 either, and while details are scarce, the title seems to indicate that this could be a trip into the kind of religious horror that did surprisingly well at the box office this year with The Devil Inside. But where does that leave his other gestating projects, including another horror pic Bedbugs and a psychological sci-fi drama The Side Effect with Liv Tyler? We're not sure, but since filming on The Sacrament starts later this month, it's a good bet we'll see this one first.

Seems like a good fit. I have always thought Roth a better producer than a director/actor (to be fair he was good in INGLORIOUS BASTERDS).

I love both, but I really can't wait to see something new written & directed by Eli Roth. It's been a looooong time..
