MOVIE TRAILERS
Tom Hardy & Shia LaBeouf in First Trailer for Crime Drama 'Lawless'

Source: Yahoo
We just got our first official photo of Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jason Clarke as bootlegging brothers in the period crime drama Lawless from director John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition), and lo and behold a trailer has just shown up as well. Brazen and fearless, three young rebel brothers helped build the American Dream in this exuberant tale of what was to become crime’s first major gold rush. I could do without the quick black and white freeze frames, but all of the performances look great including supporting turns from Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce and Mia Wasikowska. Watch!
Watch the first official trailer for John Hillcoat's Lawless, originally in high def on Yahoo:
John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition) is directing the Lawless from a script by Nick Cave which is based on Matt Bondurant's novel The Wettest County in the World. The film follows a bootlegging gang (Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jason Clarke) in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, threatened by authorities who want a cut of their profits. Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Guy Pearce, Noah Taylor and up-and-comer Dane DeHaan (of Chronicle) also star in the film which The Weinstein Company will bring to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival before it goes to theaters on August 31st this year.

well, Xerxexx, i'm sure *hoping* LaBeouf surprises us, because when Hardy says to him 'look at you, swanning around like Al Capone', i forgot the characters and only saw a stark acting mismatch. good luck to him, let's see if he brings it. if not, no matter, as Hardy + Oldman + Pearce + Hillcoat = just take my money now.

I like The Beef in dramatic roles like Holes, Tru Confessions and The Greatest Game Ever Played so I think he will definitely surprise in this film. Tom Hardy looks kind of out of place with all the mass he gained for Warrior and TDKR, but I think the role itself suits him. Oldman is always gold.

He was fattening up for Bane when he made this..had to gain a lot and then go do in Batman ..doesn't matter he's a phenomenal actor

John Hillcoat will tear this shit up. And Laboof looks almost bearable, which is a real achievement.

Nick Cave with another screenplay credit. I'm liking that.

WTF? Shia LaBoof get's billing above Tom Hardy? That's like putting a Hyundai in the showroom of a Mercedes dealership. The producers clearly have clearly not done their research with audiences.

Sadly, ask your average film-goer who Tom Hardy is, and I think you'll get a lot more blank stares than if you ask about Labeef. I'm not a big fan of Shia's either, and I hope he doesn't bring this movie down. Nick Cave has an impressive resume in film, so maybe he'll bring out the actor in the kid.

Damn. I was already excited to see this, but seeing Oldman with a Tommy gun just warms my heart.

This looks fantastic! What an amazing cast. Now, I wouldn't consider myself a Shia LaBeouf fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I never really minded him in any of his movies. Even in silly movies like Transformers I always thought he was believable as the character he was playing, and I truly liked him in 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints'. He seems kind of douchey, which might just be because of the constant confused-puppy-about-to-throw-a-panic-fit expression on his face, but I am not opposed to giving him another chance. The rest of the cast will definitely knock it out of the park. Pearce, Chastain, Oldman...yes please. Also, Tom Hardy, talking straight into my vagina as usual. Can't. Wait.

Reading through this comment, nodding along, enjoying a cup of tea. "What a good, calm Sunday full of movie trailers. Oh, is that a butterfly outside?" Sip some more tea. Arrive at your penultimate sentence: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2067384/Screenshots/4_jsok1t5a14.png Well played.

I would like to see a movie about bootlegging in prohibition-era with transformers as rum-runners.

It's pretty clear from watching this, LaBeof is way over his head acting wise. This clearly shows he has very limited range. No accent? Really, come on man. I'm still in, but only for the rest of that awesome cast.

Hillcoat is proving to be a great director. I thought The Road was excellent, and I really enjoyed The Proposition. The trailer for Lawless looks amazing. I hope the movie fits the trailer.

Looks decent, shows no matter how greedy you get, there's always someone greedier willing to kill you. The Proposition was an amazing movie.

This looks promising - epic cast and a grat director...... Anyone else think Hardy sounded a bit like Vin Diesel? Or has it been a long day?
