A personal raincloud can be deadly… Some good acquisition news for an indie project we've been keeping an eye on. New York distributor Tribeca Film has announced they've acquired U.S. rights to Chris Colfer's film debut, the high school comedy Struck By Lightning. In addition to starring, Colfer also wrote the screenplay for the film, which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last April. In the dramedy, Colfer plays a high school student who, after being struck by lightning, recounts the way he blackmailed his fellow classmates into contributing to his literary magazine. We posted an early trailer for this in February.
Directed "with awareness and exuberance" by Brian Dannelly (Saved!), Struck By Lightning also stars Rebel Wilson (pictured above), Allison Janney, Polly Bergen, Christina Hendricks, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Hyland and Angela Kinsey. The screenplay was written by Chris Colfer, making his breakout as a writer; he starred on "Glee" as Kurt Hummel and also executive produced this, too. The film was produced by Permut Presentations and Camellia Entertainment, and Tribeca plans a late 2012 theatrical release day and date with VOD platforms where it'll be available in your own home through various on-demand offerings, like on iTunes, Amazon Watch Instantly, VUDU and Xbox. We'll keep you in the loop on their exact release plans.

Intriguing Plot I miss so much for high school dramas such as " Breakfast Club" or " Elephant " or " Class " or " Precius " or " Dead Poets Secioty" or " Good Will Haunting(not high school!)" Too.
