Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson

Ohh doesn't this sound like a comedy ripe for the audiences of 2013? In what could be the greatest news for fans of Wedding Crashers since Wedding Crashers (in 2005), Vulture is reporting that 20th Century Fox is now moving forward trying to develop a project called Interns, a pseudo-sequel to Wedding Crashers that could once again star Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. So the story goes that both Vince Vaughn and director/producer Shawn Levy found an opening in their schedules due to other projects being put on hold, now Fox is chomping at the bit to get this group back together to make Interns, scripted by Vince Vaughn.

So what is this Interns about, besides interns? "Vaughn and Wilson will play forty-ish company guys who both get laid off in a downsizing. Convinced they’ve gone about managing their careers entirely wrong, they resolve to become interns at a Google-like dotcom and start anew. Suddenly, the two old chums are competing against wily, fresh-faced 22 year olds for advancement." They also say this sounds closer to Old School than Wedding Crashers, and if it all comes together, you can bet Will 'Frank the Tank' Ferrell will make some cameo appearance, too. But the project is just developing and, while Shawn Levy is looking to direct, it doesn't sound like anything is set in stone (read: signed in ink) just yet, but Fox really wants this.

While it could be great to see Vaughn and Wilson team-up again, since both are in need of something funny again after The Dilemma and Midnight in Paris, I'm not sure about Shawn Levy taking this on. He doesn't have that raunchy, crazier style that director David Dobkin (Mr. Woodcock, Fred Claus, The Change-Up) brought to Wedding Crashers that made it so superb (remember it was rated R). Levy makes family films, PG-13 comedies, and if they ever want to live up to the legacy of Wedding Crashers, even with a different script, they need to recognize why that R rating was so important to begin with. We will keep you updated!

Agreed. Vaughn in PG-13 is a failure on many levels. He's at his best when the gloves are off and the insult thesaurus is open to page "F", if you catch my drift.

Champing at the bit, not chomping.

Vaughn has been in some garbage recently , (the dilemma, couples retreat,) 2 slightly better films like four christmases and fred claus. But hasn't been in a true funny movie since The break-up which still wasnt that great in 2006. Wedding crashers was great as was old school But Swingers and Made will always be my most favorite films and funniest with Vince Vaughn in it. And please be R rated.
