The Fire Rises Game

While there honestly isn't much exciting to report here, except for a game announcement, that "Rise" Bane logo (seen above) is badass enough on its own to feature anyway (high res on Facebook). The information in this news comes from a Batman Wikia blog post announcing a new game that will be available soon called The Fire Rises. It is a "browser-based real-time strategy game" for The Dark Knight Rises made by Warner Bros as online promotion. In lieu of any other good viral or ARG updates, this online game will have to do. Join Bane's mercenary forces to lead Gotham City’s underworld characters in a powerful uprising.

The Batman Wikia posting reveals that it will be available to play for free on June 19th, but they got an exclusive preview, hence the write-up. They explain the concept: "The Fire Rises casts players as henchmen, out to get their own piece of Gotham’s pie. With lackeys of their own, players secure territory, spawn various crew members to take out a relentless stream of deadly security officers, and loot valuable gear from nearby buildings, all before Gotham PD shows up in full force and puts an end to your crime spree." I guess you're part of Bane's "Rise" against Gotham. The game looks to be a third-person almost Diablo-like strategy game, as seen on Wikia's information page with details on gameplay/characters. Might be fun to play once it's out.

More than anything, we're just keeping The Dark Knight Rises buzz going. Nolan Fans reminds us that they also announced a mobile (iPhone/Android) game for TDKR as well, which you can see a teaser for on IGN. With only 36 days left until The Dark Knight Rises hits on July 20th, we're expecting marketing to really start to ramp up, and this game is just another one of Warner Bros' offerings for anxious Batman/Bane fans.
