Warner Bros Prequel '300: Battle of Artemisia' Gets Generic New Title

Briefly: We've been following the 300 prequel 300: The Battle of Artemisia for awhile now, and the film is currently shooting in Bulgaria with Noam Murro (Smart People) making his action debut as a filmmaker. But now Heat Vision says the film, heading to theaters on August 2nd, 2013, has been titled 300: Rise of an Empire. Yeah, it's pretty bland, but people probably had a hard time pronouncing Artemisia or something like that. Anyway, Sullivan Stapleton is playing the lead character Themistocles who battles an invading army of Persians under turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro). Eva Green and Jamie Blackley also have lead roles in the film which will have a tough time living up to the action-packed original.

Didn't know the name off hand but looking it up just now, Sullivan Stapleton was awesome in Animal Kingdom so I guess I'm mildly intrigued now. Mildly.
