Watch: A New Red Band Trailer for 'The Dictator' Goes for the Bold

Most of the promotions for The Dictator with Sacha Baron Cohen have been pretty disappointing (even one with Martin Scorsese on "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend), and I think it's safe to say that we'll get another comedy that won't measure up to his effort in Borat. Of course, in each trailer, there are at least a couple new jokes that I've found rather amusing, and that's the case with this new red band trailer. It sounds like there's going to be plenty of racial jokes, foul language and more to make the R-rating worth it, and Cohen is definitely being a little bold with some 9/11 jokes tossed in for good measure. Watch it below!
Here's the red band trailer for Larry Charles' comedy The Dictator via Deadline:
And there goes the beard! The Dictator is again being helmed Larry Charles, director of Borat and Bruno, as well as Religulous and episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm". The cast for The Dictator also includes Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley, John C. Reilly, even B.J. Novak and Aasif Mandvi, and now we finally get to see who a few of their characters actually are. Apparently, Saddam Hussein's best-selling novel Zabibah and the King "inspired" this story about a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy will never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. Paramount will be bringing Baron Cohen's The Dictator to theaters everywhere starting May 16th this summer. For more, visit: RepublicofWadiya.com. Good stuff?

Shame...I am less and less excited for this movie as more and more trailers come out for it.

9/11 really?? It's an obvious joke to make given the character, but common sense should have won out over its inclusion.

That is the thing, if people do not want to see the movie no one is forcing them, but we cannot restrict free speech because it offends us because that defeats the purpose of free speech.

I completely agree. In fact, i'm using my right to free speech to explain why I think it's a distasteful joke, even for such a film as this.

awwww. that was the only joke I laughed at. Remember - comedy is the great unifier, in that, everything can be made fun of.

I find it disrespectful you only lauged at the Porsche joke and not the "tree hugging blue people from Avatar" one.

That is fine, but you are saying it should not be included because it offended you. I am American and am offended about our presidents jokes about Drone strikes but I am not going to say that he cannot say that. If we allow something to not be made fun of or discussed than how are we going to move on

Only stupid people laugh at this. This doesn't even look like Sacha's movie, it's not what i expect from him.

It's just innocent and harmfull xenophobic-misoginist-racist-liberal humour.

Which is the best type of humour, for some. It might be quite good though...

SHOCKING!!! The managed to put together some really funny bits. The first few trailers were terrible. Might actually go see this now. Best joke: "You are a really nice man."... "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST CALL ME!". Ironically the only non-offensive joke is the best and most appropriate (to the character).

Movies has always given out clues before 911 attack, eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldPM98Y3WNY My only concern is with the phrase used at the end, Ordered a new 911 in 2012, this points out will there be another attack this year.!!

No his right, if you do your own research rather than making untruthful comments you will see what is going on in a wider picture. These stuff is real and "they" give clues before it happens for example, 9/11

Are you serious? You seriously can look in a mirror at your own face and say that a bunch of shitty B-movies held the key to an attack where only 3000 people died, 3 thousand people! More people died from hunger today in Africa. As well planned and clever the attacks were, can you not just believe it was a people religiously brainwashed but also pushed to the brink of madness by greedy nations wanting to steal their natural resources? There's only so many times you can fuck a man in the ass before he turns around and bites off your nose. That's all 911 was, Americans like to make a big deal of it, it was shocking, but it was also genius. Believing that there is some kind of secret society of shape-shifting Jew lizard aliens out there pulling the strings and making movies, ha ha ha ha. I heard someone say that 911 was like Horoshima for the Japanese, that's how stupid people get about it. 911 will be remembered more for starting 2 or 3 failed wars, where all the pigeon chested posturing still couldn't beat a bunch of beardy-virgin-fuckers who lived in caves.

Well, i get your point but the government has a lot of money to feed the whole of Africa as they have money. but they waste it on useless stuff and nuclear war etc.
Belive on May 11, 2012

I don't care about Africa either, none of those people even have Facebook, so they aren't even real. But seriously though, why would anyone want to feed the Africans? It's better if they stay poor and dying. I'd read about these crazy Christians, obviously from the bible belt going out there and encouraging people to get aids so it would bring forth the rapture, because aids was like a plague. Seriously. I can't even make this shit up.

Excuse me, I think Crapola is an uneducated amateur who does not give a shit about others but only himself (and if he is an adult...well....then his an example of inhumanity who is heartless). Crapola is saying it because he is fine as he has got food, shelter etc. God forbid but i would like to see him in the people shoes who are poor (if they have got shoes) and i would happily say the same to him what he said. The Africans are humans just like you and has every right to have their own say. Why are every other country so rich and the eastern parts poor, well it's all the western prricks that steal the oil etc. and they leave the country with a "Sorry".
